Steam Haus
Good food for brunch in rooms of an old house do not noisy. Or if you are noisy (kids) you are not disturbing others. Great room for children with books and toys and a couple of tables to eat at

We love Steam Haus! Consistently good coffee, tasty breakfasts and the setup from front of shop, the dining rooms, kids room and back deck are all awesome. And open most holidays!

Nice little coffee shop on the Maylands strip. It has a comfy vibe with lots of smaller individual rooms that can be closed off from each other, like an old house that's been renovated into a coffee shop.It is great one for small kids because there's a room specifically with toys and things where you can just close the door and not worry about them disturbing other customers or running amok. This room has the best airconditioning in the place too, so that's a big bonus on hot days when it's too warm to hit the park. There's small table an chairs in there as well as few small tables for adults. The toy offering is more aimed at younger kids and will keep them occupied long enough for you to have some coffee in peace.I've never eaten a cooked breakfast here, they have the usual brekkie basics, eggs on toast, eggs bene', smashed avo, mushies on toast, that kind of stuff. I have always gone for the cabinet foods as well and toasted sandwiches. They get their pasties and donuts from Mary St bakery and make their other cakes in house. You can get coffee + toastie, or ham and cheese croissant, or donut, for a bit of a discount.Overall it's a pretty chill place to spend some time, it's not as noisy or crowded as other cafes on the strip and the small rooms gives a quite intimate feel to the place. Nice for a coffee and cake/pastry.

Cool little Cafe on the strip in Maylands.Of the cafes I've tried in the area, the service here is definitely one of the best. The food tends to range from ok to good, but the coffee is excellent.Whilst there's better places for breakfast, for the coffee and service, I'd definitely would come here again.

You won't be dissappointed. Attentive and great service- Highly Recommended - great coffee, sausage rolls(5/5l croissant (5/5) and Carrot cake (5/5- icing was a bit too rich). Will try the Prepared meals next visit. FYI. This turn of the Century historic building was the administration building for the rail / postmasters

Whenever I have visited Steam Haus I have always been greeted with extremely friendly and prompt service. There are many places to sit and eat or enjoy a coffee and cake in this wonderful spot. You can sit outside the back on the rear patio on some comfortable tables and chairs or lounge suites and even the bring your fur baby with you. Inside there's lots of little separate rooms with lounge suites and coffee tables you can sit and relax and enjoy your time leisurely reading a book whilst enjoying your coffee or you can sit in the main cafe area or even outside on Whatley Crescent. They have a large range of food including cakes and all day breakfast. They do gluten free options and also lactose free milk with fantastic coffees. Definitely well worth a visit on your trip to the Maylands cafe strip. Its gets busy on weekends so make it early

Great little cafe. Lots of space! We went midweek. There is a kids room!!! with toys and a few tables which is a GREAT thing for a mum of a 1.5 year old. Having said that though, the room and toys need a thorough cleaning. Staff were nice. Coffee was good.

I was a frequent visitor here from 2016-2019 and then completely forgot about it as my daughter grew up and the pandemic happened. I visited this place today and my goodness its exactly where I left it (actually even better their menu has more vegan, vegetarian options). Their carrot cake has to be on everyone's 100 things to eat before you die list. The staff is sooo sweet and super welcoming. Good job guys absolutely love it
