It was long walk but very nice. There are no signs to tell you how long you have left. It is important to know how long left if you need to run to catch the bus as the last one down is at 4pm.

Dove Lake will take you about 90 minutes at a good pace, is mostly flat on a good trail and achievable by most visitors (though not by wheelchairs).Despite this, few of the visitors to the park will bother with it, and will instead head right to the boat house, and left to the lookout, then catch the bus back. This is a shame as the track is well worth the walk. It stays very close to the lake and constantly gives you changing views and angles of the peaks and lakes, and at one point ducks under a lovely canopy into a gorgeous small stretch of rainforest known as the ballroom. The only tough bit is about 2/3 of the way round, when there are a few hundred step over the point behind the boathouse.Just before the end of the walk there is sidetrack up to Marion’s Lookout. Beware, this is extremely steep, and quite dangerous and for large stretch involves hauling yourself up chains over stretches of rock. If the weather is clear the views are superb, but it will take you about 1 hour to get there and back, and involved 400 metres of elevation. A much better option is to take the longer and slower hike up via the lake Lilla track, from behind the boathouse, or the overland track from Ronny Creek. There are no facilities apart from the toilets at the bus drop off, but a big new visitor centre now being planned should improve things markedly.

Such a great walk around Dove Lake which will take anything between 2 to 3 hours through some of the most scenic area of Cradle Mountain and the forest that surrounds the lake. You will get great views of the surrounding mountains and CradleMountain itself with some waterfall views coming down the mountain around about an hour into the walk and also brings you past the boat shed. There is sections where you get plenty of steps that vary from boardwalk through to stone steps The track does vary in sections between a walkway to gravel so good shoes are ideal.

This was the highlight of our trip to Tasmania and would highly recommend. Took us around 2 hours on a dry summers day (we walked rather fast so may take longer). Was cloudy at the beginning but it cleared up later. Note it is much colder than on the coast (it was warm in Launcheston) so you should dress appropriately and bring water/food etc.You will need to sign in as you enter. Of course you’ll have to have the national park pass too.If you only want to do part of the loop, try the right side of the lake and you can get a nice photo opportunity next to the boat shed. We went clockwise around the lake though (ie the other way).

This is one of those circuits where you get spoilt by choices. Every further step you take treats you with the amazing lake - snowcapped mountain landscape. A day is not enough for this circuit. It is much more invigorating than what you see in the photos. This awakes the poet inside you.Few things to note -1. As it is an high alpine region, weather changes pretty quickly. Prepare and wear accordingly.2. Whether you are completing full circuit or not, do mention your name in the log book.3. Strictly follow all the guidelines. Be smart than stupid.

Was raining the day we went up there, then got heavier so didn't do the other tracks but it's still a great track to walk IF you brought your rain gear and boots! Quite a few madmen/women walking in shorts or leggings and looking like they were not having a great time.....or setting off late enough in the day to make me think they won't get back till the sun goes down... But if you've got half an idea it's an easy proposition!

It’s a beautiful track and most of it is properly paved. We were lucky and went when the sun was out and there was no rain. Parts of the path can be flooded during/after rain so be prepared in case of weather changes.

Amazing walk. The views are spectacular. We went clockwise which meant you were walking towards the mountain constantly. The first 2/3 of the walk very easy with lots of flat areas and boardwalks then the last part had lots of rock and natural stairs which normally are not a problem but on this cold July day there was a lot of ice on the steps and it was quite treacherous. Had to really pace yourself and be careful Where you stepped which did slow You down. We walked through some amazing landscapes and rainforest areas and apart from the ice it was an amazing 2 1/2 hour walk.
