One of Australia's longest-established high fashion milliners, Julie makes bespoke, beautiful hats, fascinators and headbands. She also makes for film and television and the stage. In November 2016 Julie made a hat for Boy George, below.

You worked so diligently with me yesterday matching feathers for a fascinator to my beautiful new silk blouse. YOU worked your magic and I am most thankful I listened to your advice and ideas. If anyone thinks yours is just another retail shop ~ beware ~ artist at work. There are signs stating ‘Please ask before trying hats on’ BECAUSE these are works of art. Makes no difference what colour, race, gender, age, weight, or height ~ RESPECT art AND the artist. See you next week to pick up my new SPLENDID piece. Appreciate your efforts enormously. I bought a stud earrings about a year ago here and whilst I remember the lady wasn’t very friendly at all, I wasnt gonna leave a review about it. However after a year of hardly wearing the earrings (maybe worn once or twice), they fell apart. This never happened to my other earrings which are way much cheaper the one I bought here. Disappointed that it didn’t last long at all.

Julie's talent, knowledge and service makes a visit to her studio at the Jam Factory a must do when in the Barossa Valley. A fabulous experience and a great range of hats and fascinators - have your credit card ready, you won't be able to resist buying something!

Julie was very rude to our group visiting the store today. A member of our group tried on one of her hats to which she replied ‘that’s a $200 LADIES hat, I’d be careful with it if I were you’. Very archaic and rude - lost a whole group of paying customers and aggressive towards a non-binary member of the community. We believe in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, not bringing them down.
