A river attached to a suburb, what more could you want? If you don't want too many kids running around, probably best to go outside of peak family times. Plenty of quieter places up or downstream depending on your preferences...

Amazing..scenery is stunning.. the river is clean and crisp,fast flowing but you can swim in certain areas. So untouched you feel like your in the wild just so spectacular. Worth a visit.

It a perfect afternoon getaway from Canberra city. Take a small dingy, some sausages and barbecue on the riverbanks. Alternatively, take some nice beer and spent the entire afternoon relaxing and fishing.The water was very murky when we got there, don't know if it is always like this or not.There is also a separate nude bathing area further downstream if that is your jam.
