Waya Japanese Restaurant is a very nice place with great, fresh food served quickly. The staff was nice, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. While not cheap, it was worth it for the tasty experience.

Food was OK, service sub par. I dined alone for a quick dinner closer to their closing time while getting some work done on my laptop. Sashimi and wasabi prawn was good although tempura was soft and below average. I requested a double table so I could fit my laptop, (the restaurant was almost empty with 3-4 other guests and 5-6 other big tables available) although it seemed more like I was asking to pull teeth after he had to ask his manager, I almost said not to worry about it. I would give 3.5 starts if I had the option because some of the food was good and well priced.

This Japanese restaurant is a great choice for those looking for delicious food at an affordable price. The menu is filled with a large selection of Japanese dishes, and the ingredients are top-notch. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make for a memorable dining experience. Highly recommended!

It's not really good as hoped but the price is reasonable. The steam egg and fried oysters were not hot enough for me. For the seafood don, the salmon tasted better. Btw, I like the mocha ice cream the most! If you want to try, remember to book in advance.

One of the best Japanese rest in town. We always ordered a variety is different types. The kids loved anything with salmon fish roe, salmon or tuna. So we always ordered a variety is those. Lately they also enjoyed the soft shell crab sushi.

First time trying this restaurant even though we have been to this strip several times. We loved all the dishes. We would probably give the kimchi hot pot a miss next time and order more suchi/sashimi. So many choices of Japanese food. We'll be back for more.

Great ambience, friendly service and food was served fairly quickly and beautifully presented. We prefer flavours from similar outlets in the vicinity hence I'd rate as 3.5*

They were able to accomodate us as a large group without a booking for an early dinner and food came out relatively quickly. The menu had quite a lot of choices, although I couldn’t find details of dishes on the web version, only the printed menu.We got some Ramen, Katsu Curry Don and a Tonkatsu Bento box. The Tonkatsu was a bit dry in my bento box, but great with the curry sauce. The kids lived the Ramen.Overall taste was ok and aesthetically a nice restaurant to eat at. Service was also very good. The food just didn’t wow us much but still enjoyed it!

Surprisingly a warm and sunny Sunday and what a great day to be out. Japanese food is our next in our To Eat list so today is just the day.Service & Ambience [3]. We gotten a table quite quickly as is past peak hours. We placed our orders and the food came quite immediately, in fact faster than a fast food restaurant! Disappointingly, the restaurant play English pop songs that spoilt the decorations and settings. It would be great to have Japanese songs or music. And what's missing and I found in some Japanese restaurants here is, the staff dont't welcome customers in the traditional Japanese Welcome greetings いらっしゃいませ" (Irasshaimase). My family and I had a hearty meal today at Waya Japanese restaurant in Glen Waverley. All dishes were equally good and the serving staff were prompt, attentive and professional.The restaurant has space outside as well as inside and on the first floor.We ordered smoked salmon sushi, panko prawns, tempura prawns, chicken curry Don, Tofu curry, Agadeshi tofu, karage chicken Udon, okinomiyaki, seaweed salad and drinks, and everything was delicious.Free parking is available at a 1-minute walking distance.
