SIKA AUSTRALIA PTY LTD

I worked at SIKA AUSTRALIA for 3-4 weeks as a casual and this is what I have gathered from my experience there.It pays well, and for some people the rest of this review will not hold up against it but for me quality of life is important too.It does not take long to realise the warehouse is severely understaffed, a few other coworkers and myself would do 10-12 hours daily on 20 minutes total time spent in the break room.In SIKA's case, being understaffed with coworkers working overtime under the circumstances results in product damages, a large number of orders go out with damages daily purely because staff cannot keep up with replacing damaged stock on top of everything else going on.I decided to start taking my full breaks as offered by SIKA totaling of 50 minutes in a 10 hour day. Trucks started piling up and middle management had to come out of their office to offer support. Within a week I was asked not to come back.SIKA has great potential as a workplace for warehouse coworkers but unfortunately it is buried with the excessive daily workload

Great products, wonderful staff, high quality!

I go there now and again to pick up a pallet as our courier company has at least 1 of the contracts with them. I had left a tarp with some straps and angles 1 time and less than an hour later and not far in distance away I realised and told the radio operators who said I should go back and get them. I tried calling them, but couldn't get through. I went back and the fork lift driver showed me where they were and said I was lucky he didn't throw them in the bin! I said: you don't just throw people's stuff in the bin if they accidentally leave it behind! He said next time I will throw in the bin! I called up to talk to a manger of the forklift drivers and he backed him up, saying: it is too difficult for us to hold people's things they leave behind and we don't have a place to put them, so we throw them out straight away! I said you don't need a place to put them, just move to the side (there is heaps of outside space) and that takes less effort than throwing in a bin! Fair enough if nobody claims for a week or even a couple of days...but throwing out immediately!? How would you like it if you left your phone on bus/restaurant/cinema etc and their policy was to throw out immediately!? Very lame!

Made a call to the head office to get technical advice on floor coating products. After being passed onto 2 different numbers for so called flooring specialists, I spoke to a rep who gave me incorrect advice. I finally got the correct information from a hardware manager with many years of experience. I also spoke to a concreter who had 3 decades of experience and had used the products for many years. Might be time to hire some staff with real experience that know what they are talking about. I find it disappointing to deal with a premium brand that cannot provide correct information on thier products.
