Great walk, can take between one to four hours depending on pace and rest stops. Plenty of beautiful flora, wallabies, kangaroos. Particularly beautiful at sunrise and just after it has rained.

Is a challenging hike, but well worth it! Would make for great sunsets on top of the rock. Climbing up the rock was a short path but ascended really quickly, while the other path was much longer and was much slower in decent. Was a very interesting hike, that had many native animals. I would recommend these to others.

A pretty challenging walk for novices but a great view at the top. Remember your water, sunscreen, a hat, and good walking shoes. Not suited for people with any kind of movement difficulties as the trail is mostly very loose rock. Zero differently abled facilities.

Recently moved to the Wagga area and this is already one of my favourite places. The summit track is a great hike and If you're only after a leisurely stroll up for the view and experience then it is suitable for most novice fitness levels including children. Allow approximately 2-3 hours for the 6km return trip.If you're like myself and want to get a good workout out of it, it's also perfect for that. I'm in no way an elite athlete, but jogging the first 1.8km and a brisk walk up the remaining 1.2km will easily see you at the top in 30 minutes. It's a bit quicker on the way down, coming in at approximately 25 minutes.Best time to go in summer is nice and early just at sunrise. The track is clearly marked out all the way up and closer to the summit are log and rock stairs to aid. No scrambling is needed for this track.

A beautiful but challenging little walk to the summit. The Yerrong trail is a grade 4 track with a 6 km return. Should take about 3 hours. The first two kilometres are an absolute walk in the park but don’t let that fool you. That last kilometre is very steep and will put your cardiovascular abilities to the test. There’s plenty of informal signage and wonderful flora/fauna species to admire if you need to stop and have a breather though. The trail itself will take you up, over, through and under the stone walls of The Rock. It’s littered with loose rocks, big and small, so watch where you step because rolling an ankle could have you rolling down a cliffside. The summit is stunning and gives you a real perspective on how bloody vast and flat Australia is. On a clear day you can even see Kozzie to the south-east.You’ll find it’s a common spot for the wedge-tailed eagle to take off as well which is pretty sweet. You’ll have good cellular reception the whole way, and the Kengal carpark entrance has facilities too.
