Was attempting to shop for a birthday gift for my husband when my 5 year old desperately needed the toilet while in store. While presented with torrential rains with hail outside, staff refused use of the toilet stating its against policy!!! We had to leave everything we wanted to run out into the UNSAFE weather with 2 kids. Incredibly poor service. We won't be back!!!

Absolutely disgusted. Attempted to collect my click and collect" order in person only to find it was presumed to be FRAUD and the order was cancelled. No idea why this is a process for a click and collect order in person

Although I've enjoyed good service in the past, my experience today trying to purchase a product from Saturday's flier in the West Australian was disappointing to say the least. I rang to be sure the product I wanted was actually in stock. I was assured that it was and proceeded to the store to make my purchase, only to be contacted en route and informed that their stock was a different colour from the advertised unit and would cost more. Upon rejecting that offer I requested Jaycar to order in the advertised product and was informed that they could not confirm the flier price and that I would have to prepay. Very disappointed!

I've been to Jaycar 3 times in the last 6 months and each time was a negative experience. Every time the customer service was 'take it or leave it' attitude. It seems these guys would rather be somewhere else. I needed to return a component that the sales person said 'may' solve my problem. It didn't so I returned it for a refund. I was told I have to give my full contact details to get a refund, if I didn't I wouldn't get one. My logic is that I didn't have to give the details to purchase, why should I to get a refund? It was the only way so I gave it. I later bought several components for a job but one did not fit the application. It was in perfect unused condition and with receipt but I was refused a refund, only a credit. This fulfils their obligation under the act but in a minimalist way. Again, it was the attitude of the guy who reckoned he was manager was the main issue. I advise, be careful what you buy if you go there and don't rely on 'normal' refund protocols or courteous service.

The staff are excellent. I've never had a bad experience with staff in store, they have been knowledgable or happy to admit when they don't know something. All of my issues with Jaycar are corporate decisions. The catalogue has traditionally had some useful tech helper/cheat sheets inside but these seem to be disappearing year by year. For some reason they printed half of the annual catalogue upside down last year? My members" catalogue never comes in the post no matter how many times I send in the card or fill in the web form and I end up having to go in and pay for a copy. There are strange gaps in the product lines
