Definately living up to their name. Try carrying a toddler up them for a real burn. Great little beach that is good for taking your dog.

Wonderful views, looks a great spot to snorkel, maybe even surf on a decent swell. Looks good to explore with reef shoes. Plenty of parking spots,not too far from CBD.

We meet there every other week for a heart foundation walk we dont use the stairs although the area is a credit to the council.

The Trough Stairs
30 metres of verticle stairs down to the southern ocean. There is no beach and the water is rough and icy. You can see the erosion of the foreshore cliff face. The view is spectacular but there is nothing else here.
