The Stoic Dog

From my initial point of contact with Tom at The Stoic Dog I have been impressed with his professionalism and passion for what he does, and it is infectious. Once you start training with Tom you will want to achieve more and more. Tom will not necessarily train your dog, he is training you, the owner and handler of your dog. He is imparting his knowledge and skills to you, so you have the skills to train your dog. We have trained in both our home and other locations so you are getting real world training in a physical setting that you will take your dog to, you will not get that through a club! We have a. 4 month old German shepherd who have been working with in conjunction with Tom since he was 8 weeks old. Today I put that training into a real world scenario that could have ended in harm to my dog. As soon as I gave the recall command, my 16 week old pup immediately returned to me, which is nearly unheard of in such a young pup. All of this is thanks to Tom and the dedication he has shown in training ME to better for my dog. If you have a pup that you want trained, don’t waste your time talking with anyone else, speak with Tom and I promise you, you will get the results you are hoping for and more.

I would like to thank Emily for her training and guidance she has given to my 16mth old GSD, Kyra, and myself, we both have gained much confidence in each other. Emily was easy to talk to and I did not feel uncomfortable asking questions. Emily engaged Kyra right from the start and was always encouraging.

I have a 5 year old German shepherd named Asher. She goes everywhere with me. She’s gorgeous, happy and a bit of a sook but very head strong when it came to my wife having to walk her.I gave Tom from The Stoic Dog a call to help.Tom came out to our home and explained the process and the trust that’s needed between the owner and the dog. He showed us the techniques we needed and made us very relaxed while we were all learning.After the first session there was a massive improvement with the Asher responding to my wife.After the 4 sessions with Tom its like we have a completely new dog and the bond with my wife and Asher is like I’ve never seen before.It’s definitely made my life easier and worth every cent.I would 100% recommend Tom.

Tom was great to work with. He showed me (in particular) and our dog some fundamental skills and methods that will hold us in good stead! He was very accommodating with my dog (a small cavoodle) yet tailored his training approach. We see improvements everyday as a result, highly recommended.

Tom is a very educated, very passionate dog trainer who you can tell genuinely cares about your pup's, and comes into every session so positive and ready to tackle anything. He helped my border collie with his obedience and eating issues so much, I couldn't recommend him higher!

Tom was an incredible trainer! We loved that he came to us so that the training he provided was relevant in our own environment. He gave us a variety of skills that have improved our abilities as dog parents, covering all our training needs, both minor and major. Tom’s way of teaching was super easy to follow and understand. A significant area we needed support with was walking our Rottweiler as she would always jump at cars. Within a few weeks we have seen a major improvement! We couldn’t be happier! Tom has been excellent in providing the tools to put our young puppy, Kirby, on the right path. Tom is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and is great at explaining things in a way that really makes it click. Over a few sessions, Tom has taught my partner and I valuable skills to help us train our German Shepherd puppy and has really helped with problem areas like biting and walking on the lead.
