Four Paws K9 Training

Very impressed with the standard of training and organization at Four Paws Training. Trish Harris is one of the most knowledgeable trainers in Melbourne and even instructs new trainers going through their accreditation with The National Dog Trainers Federation of Australia.Anyone looking for a training club would be in good hands at Four Paws.

I have visited a number of dog training clubs and been a member of dog training clubs for many years with different dogs. When I first visited Four Paws K9 training I was blown away with just how good, how professional and how up to date and caring for the dogs this club is. Innovative ideas, great for the dogs and all professional trainers. A benchmark in dog training clubs and though my dog is now very old, I'll be back with my next dog!

Unless you have a difficult dog, go on YouTube first.It's a big financial commitment, 13 sessions.I stopped going because (i) we weren't learning anything useful anymore, my dog knew enough after the first 6 weeks, (ii) I didn't enjoy the different trainers every week (never got the same one twice), and some trainers need to CHILL and stop telling us adults off. Be kind!

Four Paws have been amazing for my little Aussie Bulldog Delilah who is now 14wks old. All the trainers have been wonderful. Trish particularly has taken the time to help with a couple of issues we have had, and have been so patient and informative, even when we have had to try a few different methods to succeed. I look forward to continuing training with them whilst my puppy grows into the goodest girl ever :-)

I heard about trish through her book (when threes a crowed), I wanted a puppy though my staffy had some dog aggression issues she was a rescue and would lunge and growl at any dog she would meet, Trish explained it’s entirely possible to integrate a new dog into the family but it would be a lot of hard work and a big change of schedule for all of us, my staffy wanted nothing to do with the puppy, 9 months later and a lot of hard work the two are living together happily. Trish is a miracle worker, most other trainers assume there is nothing that can be done but Trish has such a deep understanding and care for troubled dogs, that as long as you put in the hard work and follow what she says chances are it will work out for you.She was professional, confident and knowledgeable, and very fairly priced compared to some others that specifically work with aggression.I am now studying dog training myself and honestly feel Trish is Victorias if not Australia’s leading expert with not only dog aggression but multiple dog households

I would highly recommend Four Paws to anyone wanting help with their dog, whether for behavioural issues or obedience training. Trish is extremely skilled, caring and understanding and has a huge resource of knowledge and experience to draw on. She is a great teacher, generous with her time and expertise and truly committed to helping dogs and their people.

Saw Trish for problems with my German shepherds recall. After 1 session Trish showed me how to gain his attention and how to train him in recall. At the second session some 3 weeks later there was a huge difference. She is by far extremely knowledgeable in her field and you can tell that she has a real and demonstrative passion for dogs and I would encourage anyone who is looking for a dog training professional to contact her.

Knowledgeable instructors who are clear about the expectations for each session. Although occasionally a little hard hear the instructor instructions as its fully outdoors. Professionally run with appropriate session lengths. Dog socialisation each session is excellent as it teaches your dog acceptable behavior, plus the dogs love it. You won't regret choosing Four Paws K9 Training.

We've been taking our GSD here since he was about 8 months old. We missed quite a bit of training due to COVID, however we gained excellent insight when we joined. During the Christmas break they continued with special classes that was extremely helpful too.All trainers are very thorough and always stay back to answer questions after the training, which is an incredible help. We had an issue with our puppy and our daughter and sent an email to them for recommendations. Not only did they reply to my email, Trish called me and spoke to me at length on how to fix the issue. Coming from a service industry, I've seen most businesses unable to provide genuine care/support to their customers and these guys actually care.Highly recommended for puppy school/junior obedience and others. Great environment, professional and friendly to say the least.Thank you Trish and the team !

4Paws has been an integral part of our dog journey, many years ago we trained our first rottweiler at the face to face training at Keilor Downs & had fantastic results. For novice owners Trish & the team we're invaluable in showing us correct dog handling, socialization & how to create long term obedience with our headstrong puppy/young dog at the time.We've now recently adopted a 2 year old Rottweiler, who has had no obedience training - until us. As we have adopted during lockdown our options have been limited for face to face, however via ZOOM Trish has been able to guide us thru how to deal with some at home behaviors that needed immediate attention. We're confident owners, however its our first time adopting & dealing with ingrained traits is a whole new ball game.Trish made a difficult time so much easier on us, with clear laid out framework for us to implement on the troubling behaviors, it was such a relief to have her professional advise. We're now making great headway & our dog now has the best chance to flourish in his new home. Trish is continuing to keep in regular contact as we navigate our way through until face to face training is again available.We can't thank Trish enough & recommend her services to any one who is keen to create life long positive behaviors with your dog.
