I was expecting this to be a stuck up vintage “thrift” store with crazy prices but everything was as cheap as a normal op shop and with added amazing vibes and a great selection of clothes! i’d love to see them expand in size and locations in the future

I love love love this store! I've been going there for years and it always has fun and interesting pieces at fair prices. The staff are also lovely and have assisted me many times when trying to put together cute fits. I always make sure to pop in every time I'm on Chapel :D

I come from QLD so I could be bia’s when I say this is possible one of the best op shops in Melbourne. It’s so hard to find op shops like this in Brisbane. Me and my friend has been spend our day op shopping and came across by this place by accident. Wasn’t on our list. I felt welcomed and had so much fun looking for more pieces. Felt like I could spend 3 or 4 days in there looking through all there pieces. Left with an amazing dress and the staff chefs kiss. Amazing customer service

To call themselves an op shop is honestly deplorable. Yes, they allegedly donate 100% of their profits to ‘Teen Challenge’ which is commendable but honestly the bare minimum for a charity shop.On average their items seemed to be priced at the $20-25+ mark. The cheapest I was able to find was a $10 t-shirt. You can go to places like cotton on and buy a $5 basic or online shop at horrible places like shein and get 5 items for $20. It is troubling and disturbing that a charity shop, whose entire stock is donated to them is more expensive to purchase from than a regular retail store. So I question, how is Storehouse Thrift in any way supporting or encouraging sustainable fashion? And above all else, how many sales and thus $$ to donate to their named charity have they lost?So many of us are currently experiencing hardships due to the current rental crisis and are one pay check away from homelessness. You would expect to be able to go into an op shop and buy basic clothing at a reasonable price, or at least cheaper than at a retail store.I have attached screenshots from a video I took of a handbag they have priced at $25 as an example. This handbag is not even usable, I seriously do not understand how Storehouse Thrift can justify this?I left feeling pretty disturbed and disappointed. Do better.EDIT-Thank you for your reply. I understand everything you replied with 100%, and did before my initial review as I went away and did my own research. My main concern and question remains unanswered however. How do you justify second hand clothing being more expensive than brand new? Do you purchase your stock and resell? Or is it donated to you? If it is donated, I do not understand how you can justify your prices when surrounding op shops/ thrift stores (same meaning btw, thrift is just the American term) have considerably lower prices. To assume I have no experience in this area is as belittling as the way the employee spoke to me, hence why I left swiftly.

Make sure you check the garment for damage before purchasing. Staff will not advise you their policy is no refunds at time of purchase, and will not return your money in an circumstance. Dodgy practice and poor customer service.Re: your reply. Garments shouldn’t be hung in such a way to conceal that they are damaged.I asked for her name so that when I emailed you, I could verify who it was that I spoke to on that day. I fail to see how that’s inappropriate, I didn’t ask for her mailing address or star sign. They gave me a contact I could escalate my issue with, which I emailed with zero response.I was disappointed that I had wasted money on something I wouldn’t wear.I don’t believe your no refunds policy is made very clear to customers and I don’t want other people to end up disappointed by their experience as well.

Wow. Hats off to the lovely girls working in this store and how they handle difficult members of the public whilst remaining professional. I would like to commend the staff who were being harassed by an unpleasant woman today while I was shopping. They handled themselves well and were so upbeat with me afterwards. Love the jacket I got too & will be returning to this store in the near future.
