My husband surprised me by booking the Granary and WOW, he has now set a very high standard. Thank you Bernice and Richard for seeing a vision and sharing your dream. It was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, you are INCREDIBLE hosts, nothing was too much and we had everything! This is a must, 5 minutes from a gorgeous beach that you literally drive on and in the heart of McClaren Vale and beautiful winery’s. AMAZING 10/10, thank you

Absolutely beautiful and peaceful setting. A thoughtful and sophisticated renovation of a storied historic rural building. Well equiped accomodation with a stunning outlook onto vineyards, almond groves and hills beyond. Large master suite connecting to a luxurious bathroom upstairs and a lush private lawn downstairs. Not to mention lovely hosts. Would love to come back.

We loved our stay here. The accomodation was immaculate and the scenery was breath taking. The bath overlooking the vineyard was also a highlight not to mention the breakfast provisions and tasting platter. Will definitely be staying here again.

We stayed three nights in The Millery, a gorgeously, painstakingly restored, two-level building with absolutely all mod cons, including a wood-burning slow combustion fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen and so much more! Richard and Bernice were the consummate hosts, providing luxurious toiletries, linen, bathrobes and slippers, as well as a fridge stocked with breakfast goodies, and other gourmet treats. We were surprised by their generosity and attention to detail. The setting, close to beaches, wineries, restaurants, vineyards and walks, is superb. There is also a day spa next door, run by Bernice, if any extra pampering is desired! We were joined by a friend for the first night on the sofa bed in the downstairs living area and, without a doubt, all three of us totally enjoyed our stay at The Millery and would not hesitate to return there or to recommend it for those who wish to visit McLaren Vale in the most luxurious way!

Wonderful experience. Such a comfortable yet interesting experience in this historic space. We barely left, enjoying the food left for us ( home made jam and fresh eggs amongst enough treats for breakfast and wine and cheese) . Bed very comfortable. Outdoor bath a treat. Architecturally brilliant.

Our stay at Old Chaff Mill was amazing. The accomodation was immaculately clean, well stocked with fresh produce from the owners and a beautiful space to relax in! Bernice also runs a day spa on the property and I had a wonderful spa experience!

We stayed at the Millery in June 2023. The accommodation was beautiful - from the decor through to the thoughtful and high quality amenities - and the hosts were lovely. They relly cater for all your needs. The fireplace, record player, outdoor bath, welcome platter and wine, and English breakfast provisions were particular highlights. The Old Chaff Mill Retreat is very well located, being only a short drive from many many wineries, restaurants and cute townships. Highly recommend and we will be sure to return when we are next in the region.

If you're looking for a place to stay next to vineyard with overlooking view, you've finally found a perfect spot. And if you're into arts and architectural wonder, look no further as this is a must visit for you and and your family.Stay on a calm and relaxing ambient where you can have your much needed massage on their own facility. Enjoy their own grown wine and complimentary nibble plate. Plenty of reason for staycation but you're 10-15min drive to the restaurants, beach and attraction spots if you have to.

Staying at the Old Chaff Mill for our 10 year anniversary was a dream ❤️. The accommodation is beautifully presented, clean and the grounds were truly enchanting. Despite the rain this weekend, it was so cosy and warm inside. Richard went out of his way to accommodate my dietary intolerances in the snack plate and breakfast provisions which was so appreciated. I watched the sunrise each morning, which was so tranquil. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

Our stay at The Granary at The Old Chaff Mill was nothing short of wonderful. The moment we were welcomed into our accommodation by Richard we felt like we had found Nirvana. This place is obviously a labour of love - everything is quality - furniture, fittings, fixtures, style! Then complemented by all the welcoming touches - charcuterie platter, estate wine, farm eggs. The outlook is just lovely, but it was the curious chooks that added that touch of sheer joy that entranced us. We couldn’t recommend a stay here more highly - thanks Richard and Bernice.
