We are blown away by the whole process from booking Hawthorne Creative, all the way to receiving the photographs and video.The communication was exceptional by the whole team- Brittany who kept us updated every step of the way, and Carolyn, Alex and Huey on the wedding day who provided us with so many beautiful photographs and videos. The quality is exceptional and we are so happy with the results.The team were AMAZING to work with and I highly recommend them to anyone. We couldn't be any more thankful to have such great photographers for our day. Carolyn and Alex made every attempt to be there for our wedding on the 23rd of October 2022 despite the wet weather we had. I was very nervous and uncomfortable being the shy and awkward person i am, but they made everything great and made me feel quite comfortable and took beautiful pictures. They made the day flow so well for us. My husband and I love their work, and we highly recommend them to anyone we know who is getting married in the near future.Thank you guys again for everything ❤️

Unfortunately, our experience with the company has not lived up to what we hoped for – far from it.We booked one of their smaller packages, as we were keen to have a more casual wedding vibe with minimal pre-wedding photos. We also booked them for a special Indian traditional night we had before the wedding - the Mehndi Night. Unfortunately, although we had been assured someone would be available for this event and that it had all been booked in, the company contacted us one week before this night to say they had no one available and cancelled the booking.We were very concerned by the lack of communication with our photographer in the run up to our actual wedding. After having to chase up the company on multiple occasions, we finally were able to arrange a Teams meeting with the photographer. During the meeting, he was very non-committal and disinterested, but confirmed that everything was sorted (as to timings, photos requested etc)On our wedding day, the photographer was late as they had the wrong time, despite having confirmed the ceremony time with us during our meeting. We had to push back our ceremony start time, to wait for him to arrive (this also impacted all the other timings, so we had to sort that, rather than focus on the ceremony and our big day).During the post ceremony photos, the photographer had to repeatedly check the request list on his phone, as he did not know which shots we had asked for, and also seemed very inexperienced with these types of shots (this was despite going through this all during our meeting the week prior).After the event, we had to wait more than 6 weeks for the photos, with no preview shots, which we were expecting.When we did get the photos, they were very poor quality, including the group shots. This is especially devastating, given we cannot replicate these photos again, as the majority of guests travelled from overseas.It was clear reviewing the photos that the photographer was very junior and had limited experience with taking group shots. He did not correct people’s poses or spacing, and so all of our main family photos are terrible. The main photo of the whole wedding party was very important to us, and these shots are seriously inadequate, with people missing, blurred faces in the background, and a lot of dead space at the front.We emailed the company over two weeks ago with our concerns, and whilst the initial email response was quickly received from Carolyn suggesting we talk this through, we are yet to speak to her. This is despite us following up multiple times.Our wedding day cannot be replicated and the photos the company provided do not do the day justice. Their promise to make our day “as fun and stress free as possible” was definitely not fulfilled, and we cannot recommend them to anyone, especially not for anything as important as a wedding.

My husband and I hired Hawthorne Creative to be our wedding photographers and videographer. The results are absolutely outstanding. I would recommend Hawthorne for any occasion. We will definitely be using them again! They made us feel so comfortable on the day and they really went out of their way to do what they could to make my day easier (especially walking through the forest in a wedding dress!). Such a fun, loving group of people who has such a burning passion to capture those magical moments. Carolyn, Alex and Huey had such a positive impact all throughout the day... we had so many laughs with them (and got so much positive feedback from all our guests)

We booked the Platinum Package for 10 hours which included photography and videography with Hawthorne Creative for our November 2022 wedding.While we love and appreciate many of the photos and videos that we received we were disappointed with a number of things which I believe could have been easily avoided with better communication.When we initially booked, we had a phone discussion with our photographer about the schedule for the day and our expectations. Only when I contacted the company to ask for the teams’ dietary requirements a few weeks prior to the wedding, was I informed that a different photographer would be attending. This made the initial discussion entirely redundant and if I hadn’t made contact myself, I believe I would have only learnt this on the day.After the initial discussion, I provided a detailed run sheet with inspiration photos and my “must capture” list. When we received the gallery, some of the “must capture moments” were missing. I had specifically asked for photos while getting my hair and makeup done, and a flat lay of the rings, earrings, bouquet etc. While some of the hair and makeup shots were able to be provided on further request, the flat lay photos that I’d asked for could not be provided as they were not taken.We certainly loved the large amount of sneak peek photos we received the day after the wedding as the turnaround for the remainder of the photos was 13 weeks. Videography, however, took a total of 18 weeks and despite me chasing this on a number of occasions, an estimated timeframe was not provided. The company did however provide a few extras to compensate for this which was greatly appreciated.In regard to the videography, I understood that the ‘ceremony video’ as listed in the package, would include a static video of the ceremony where you could at least hear the live band playing their music as I walked down the aisle etc. Unfortunately, all videography that was provided has music added on top and you therefore can’t hear any of the original sound. I have asked whether footage with original sound can be provided but the minimal responses I have got to my queries, make it seem like this is not possible which seems strange, considering the footage must exist for them to put music on top of it.The Platinum Package that we booked lists ‘drone footage’ as an inclusion. This was never discussed; I don’t remember seeing a drone in the air at any point and we didn’t receive any drone footage.I truly believe that many of these issues could have been solved by better communication. If the photographer changes, notify your bride and ensure any notes or must capture moments are included in a hand over. If the videography is going to take longer than planned, proactively contact your customer and let them know, don’t wait for them to chase. Be clear about what the package will include i.e. what does ‘ceremony video’ entail? If the package lists drone footage, then it needs to be provided and if it can’t be, you need to contact your customer and work out an alternate plan, not just hope they don’t follow it up.
