Stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of a trip up north to Mission Beach, in order to explore Cania Gorge NP. Arrived late & was not a problem for owners. Well located, warm, clean & comfortable rooms for our stay - close to fuel, grocery shops, coffee, pubs for dinner.

Great service. Super easy check in and good price for the night. Friendly and helpful owners. Quiet location. Short walk to the local pub for a good dinner. Rooms are clean and comfortable with all the necessary facilities. There's even a bread board to go with the toaster, and a mini bar. Air conditioning worked really well. Quiet location - no highway noise. Would definitely stay here again.

Came through for work. Stayed the night which was great. All necessary amenities, was pretty happy.Best part was the service. I left something behind and needed to ask an additional favour which they were happy to do both.Five stars for the service!

I travelled for work - a woman alone and they had given my room key to another man. He was already in the room. He was given another room but my room key. I felt very unsafe and did not sleep. The room I was given was adequate and seemed clean but very old with cracks in the bathroom sink etc. I would not recommend nor stay again. When I mentioned to a work colleague she said it had happened to someone else in the recent past.

These people need extra points for trying....yes, the motel needs an update but the bed was comfortable, the shower hot and the towels soft. Everything you want was provided

Monto Colonial Motor Inn
The Motor Inn is 1 of 2 or 3 motels in Monto. On their website, they showed a great dining hall. But because of Covid, it was closed. It is located close to the main town centre. The motel room is relatively old. Shower cubicle is like that of an old school’s cubicle. The shower head is covered in lime scales. I didn’t dare to use the kettle as its bottom is also coated with blackened lime scales. However, they provided prepackaged breakfast (instant oats, milk, poppa, cereal) and lunch (sandwiches, soft drinks, cake and fruits).

Omg! Loved the work that has been put into the presentation of this motel. It’s absolutely amazing. Local owners Georgie and Cliff were very welcoming and friendly. The rooms were clean and tidy but I loved the restaurant and bar area as there is so much to see n look at. Definitely recommend staying here while in Monto. Cheers Georgie and cliff
