This gym is amazing. I have been training here for two years now, and I have grown in every area of my life because of it. Professor Gui is an amazing instructor. I very much like and admire the way he teaches. All of the coaches here are excellent. They always take the time to answer questions, and have a deep passion for what they do. From day one everyone here has been incredibly welcoming. I would highly recommend GBSP for anyone looking to develop practical skills, build character, and meet new friends.

My youngest daughter joined here and I was so impressed with the culture of the place and the confidence she got that I enrolled my older daughter - and then I signed up too! In my first year I’ve had a blast, lost weight (10kgs) and improved my fitness enormously. It’s been so nice to feel fit and healthy again! Just as importantly, it’s a lovely community, where everyone is very welcoming and supportive.

Both my sons and I have been training at Surfers Paradise Gracie Barra for 3 and 4 years now consecutively.If you want to try something different, get active or even wanting to gain confidence this is place where these are all possible.A great welcoming atmosphere, where the Professor and Coaches really take time to explain techniques and spend time with the students.

Gracie Barra is an amazing place with all members and staff so respectful , caring and dedicated. My little girl started this year and she absolutely loves it, the discipline she has learned so far as well as the fitness she is involved is incredibleA wonderful place and an amazing group community

Absolutely love this gym! The instructors and students are all very welcoming and open new people in with welcome arm. I have visited a lot of gyms and this one immediately makes you feel welcome and like you have a safe environment to learn a new skill if you are new to BJJ.If you have been practicing for a while the skill in the gym from the instructors will not disappoint! This gym is definitely worth a visit even if you have an established gym in your routine! Gotta spread that BJJ family love!It is new gym, you can tell that it was prepared with a lot of passion for the art of jiu jitsu and community.Worth a visit to any one or any age!

I have been going to Gracie Barra Surfer's paradise for over a year now, I have found it to be a very friendly supportive gym to train at. I feel like professor Gui and the coaches are very supportive of everyone's individual journey and goals, whether you just want to learn at a laid back pace and have a bit of fun or if you are person who wants to challenge themselves within the sport, they will support you.As a woman, close contact sport can be intimidating if you are training with men, but I feel like the professor and the coaches make sure to maintain the feeling of safety for students, and in my experience I have never felt belittled or creeped out by any member of the gym. I feel just as safe and supported by the male members of the gym as the women, and in general, I have made many friends at the gym I have a lot of fun training with and many higher belt friends who support and encourage me through my learning. A special shout out to coach Via also, for making efforts to have the women in the gym feel encouraged!I highly recommend booking a trial class if you are looking at this review while considering if you want to try Bjj or this gym in particular. Going to Gracie Barra surfers paradise is often my highlight of the day, and although bjj may not be for everyone, you kind of won't know unless you give it a go, and because I love it so much, I can see the potential in everyone loving it, so I kind of just want everyone to give it go!

Where can I start, started off as an interest and was so scared my fitness would be my down fall.However the team were so welcoming and made me feel so comfortable. I ended up signing up my daughter in the process and she has fallen in love with it as much as me.Thank you for all you do for us.
