'alter it' came highly recommended by Reuben F Scarf which was extremely helpful.Staff member 'George' was super friendly and accommodating in getting a new suit pant hemmed almost on the spot in record time!!!This guy deserves a payrise!!! Without George, I would've struggled to get this job done with my crazy schedule.

I went here to put my jacket in for an undone stitch to be fixed. I thought I'd leave it to be done except I didn't bring any money with me as I just took 5mins from work to go see if it was possible.I just quoted $22 which I thought was fair so I said I'll leave it only to be told I can't pay on pick up. So I said I'll come back when I next get a chance. A week or so later I went back to leave it and was told the price was $35 I questioned her and the lady told me to come back on Friday to see the other lady that said $22. It's a significantly big difference in what I was originally told but I did go back and was then told it would be $45 to fix it! When i questioned her and asked her how can they be so inconsistent with their pricing for the same stitching repair? Their answer was 'the more you find out about a piece the more expensive it gets' weird considering the stitching was exactly the same the week before and the week before that. So we agreed on $35 as I needed it done and she was not budging on price. One week later I go in to collect my jacket on a Thursday night 8pm and she refused to give it to me because she said she was closed. I could see my jacket and pointed to it and asked can I just have my jacket please and she said nope, tomorrow, we are closed. The hours stated online say they didn't close for another hour. When their owner was contacted the next day by centre management he didn't care, he was sitting in Melbourne and has never stood foot in his own store. Very poor service and I'm not the only one to receive bad service according to chermside centre management.

I have taken several items to Alter it at Chermside, now, to be altered and even reshaped. I’ve had hems and sleeves resized and darts added plus a bodice resized with pleats and gathers. The material has varied and the items have ranged from good-casual to formal.I have been impressed with both Laura and George who have each worked on my items. The clothing has been finished in each instance within the allocated time. The work completed is of a high standard. The fees are reasonable for what I have asked to be done.Laura is more than a seamstress, she’s a professional dressmaker who I am happy with. Both her and George have displayed a friendly yet professional manner and they both deserve praise for their work.
