Catherine arrived around 10 minutes late to my appointment. I was left in a waiting room with not even a receptionist but just a sign saying that someone would come. For someone experiencing anxiety, this is not the care I would expect, and I felt increasingly upset. Upon arrival no explanation was given, a mere offhanded 'sorry to keep you waiting'. Maybe I should have listened then to my intuition not to proceed. However, the consultation continued with Catherine going through my life like a list: family, job, relationships, finances. The end conclusion was that there was nothing wrong with my life and so she couldn't fix me and apologised! Hmm, I though anxiety was an inner state of mind, regardless of outer circumstances that through analysis, mindfulness and other techniques could be managed... All that for $240,or whatever the rate was. Yes, she still charged me for taking an hour of my life. Afterwards, I felt sick, upset and even more anxious than I started.

Catherine Madigan at Anxiety Australia is absolutely awesome. She is professional, knowledgeable and caring. A 10 out of 10 for being the best psychologist!
