Gladstone Motel

My husband and I walked in and walked straight back out! Horrible place, I would have not felt safe staying for the night. Lots of permanent people, dogs and cats living there. So gross! Even had leftover food rotting in the fridge. One positive thing, they gave us back our money without any fuss.

###DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!As per the reviews an year ago, the motel was maintained very well, and had good reviews and ratings. However, now the owners have changed and it's pretty bad. Don't book the hotel.Breakfast serving is all expired food which they get it at cheaper prices.I had told them that the weetbix is expired 2 years ago, along with the other foods nearing expiry date. The lady apologized and came back with another bunch of expired food.Bathroom drain is very stinky.Noisy place.

Room was old & dirty had sewage smell through out the room mould in bathroom shower had no water pressure the bad was a roller bed every time you moved the bed started rolling blanket in cupboard was dirty couldn’t find light switch ended up behind the curtain near the door took 3hrs for our breakfast to be delivered and worst of all power point had zip ties on to keep it together. Drug dealers were happening all night absolutely disgusting health inspectors would shut the place down

The positive thing I can say is the room is clean. But when I tried to check in, there was no one there. The electronic bell had the batteries removed, and the manual bell was not answered. I waited at the door for 5 minutes and had to go looking for someone. There was surprisingly a 2 door full size rusting fridge. The water dispenser on the fridge door doesn't work. There was no milk provided for coffee. But the guy brought it right away when asked. The cupboard smelled musty. I had to hang my clothes on chairs and outside the cupboard doors. The shower cubicle smelled of faint urine. They advertised as having foxtel but not working in my room. I didn't bother to ask.

This is a cheap local motel that will suit all your needs for a stay....

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! this is by far the worst motel I've ever stayed in, in my life!!! Firstly we arrived and it took the tenants 20 minutes to wake the owner up to check us in. Entering the rooms they looked okay but as the time went on we discovered we were staying at the motel from hell. There were dead roaches in the bathroom, no water pressure at all, cold water didn't work so had to have a scorching hot shower. The beds and linen were riddled in animal hair, to the point I had to take antihistamines every night. There are permanent residents that stay which they seemed like nice people but all have massive cats and dogs living in their motel rooms, probably explains the hair through everything. The beds are on rollers and move across the room everytime uou move. One powerpoint in the whole place. Management rarely speaks a word of English so complaining was no use and when we asked for clean linen he was so cranky and swore under his breath. Drug deals and noise happening all night.... I do not know how this place is operating still, living conditions are inhumane and I wouldn't even allow my pets to stay there. Absolutely putrid and disgusting. We also checked out early because I couldn't stand to stay one more night in that place which cut our holiday short and ruined our whole experience visiting Gladstone

Booked for Nye, great price and angel was lovely upon arrival, noticed there are some permanent residents there with kids whom dominated the pool with screaming shouting, jumping in and dive bombing, tried to have an afternoon sleep prior to going out but too noisy, smell of marijuana from the next room coming through the aircon, lovely comfortable king bed, newly updated bathroom, definitely worth the stay if it was quieter

Horrible place. The young boy manager is a nightmare! He continually threatens guests that HE is their landlord and will evict them. His ego is dreadful, as is the drug taking from himself and his partner. I've located the owners' details if you want to ensure they know just how badly it's being run. Don't email because the owners don't receive the emails. The owners' son is Benny, it's Duong Phan Accommodation Services. ABN 61 638 496 849. Write to them at 4/95 Shakespeare St Mackay QLD 4740.It's absolutely disgusting the way it's run and the boy manager is way beyond his capabilities, which are basically screaming and threatening guests.
