Riddik is newly opened and I am impressed with the quality of the food. The coffee, in particular the iced latte was excellent. The atmosphere is vibrant and modern. It can get a bit loud.Service was efficient. However we were sat down initially without menus. The kitchen was well staffed and the food came quickly. The kids meals were nice however I would appreciate more options. One negative was the price. The price is slightly higher than equivalent quality that can be found in the city and south Melbourne. The cheeseburger and chips at $22 was nice but I won't buy again at that price. For some this is reasonable but as a large family with lots of kids I felt a bit priced out.

Second time we've eaten here. Great local restaurant with a menu that's a little different and unusual. Our group of 6 went on a Monday night and we're seated in an area of our choosing as the original bench/booth type seating was too difficult for my elderly parents to get in and out of. We ordered one Entré to share, the lamb ribs which were absolutely delicious. Tender and tasty with a delicious crust. It was supposed to come with preserved lemon but there was no evidence of it. We ordered a range of mains from Sliders, Burgers, Schnitzel and Eye fillet. All our dishes came with really good fresh chips. Everyone commented on how much they enjoyed their burgers which all had a bit of a twist. ( Monday is Burger night and there is quite a selection as well as the standard menu). The Eye fillet was a beautiful, generous, tasty cut but was unfortunately overcooked. It was ordered medium rare with a crust, but was well and truly medium and tending to dry. The staff were very solicitous and offered to redo the steak which we declined as it would have taken way too long. It was ordered with the red wine jus and also the mushroom sauce, on the side, which the very helpful girl who was serving our group was only too happy to accommodate. Both sauces were excellent. As we were all quite full we only ordered one dessert, the Tasting Platter" which was a beautifully plated wooden platter with a Chocolate Fondant/Lava Cake

Had mixed feelings about this eatery. Based on my experience that day, the pros: the manager was a kind and friendly man, the coffees were fantastic, one of the two waitresses who served us was positive and cheerful and the food was tasty. The cons: We waited longer than we expected for the dishes to be served, the other waitress (the more senior one)was unhelpful when taking our orders, her demeanour made us feel foolish for asking her to clarify an item on the menu and the dishes were a little pricey.

Nice space. The food was really tasty. Service was really slow, sadly, even though it was not very busy.

Superb service from an enthusiastic team. A menu that has something for everyone. A little pricey but well worth it. Something interesting about every dish. Missing a desert menu. Looking forward to trying some of the other dishes on a return visit.

Amazing food. Missed some good photos. Cocktails were some of the best I've had. Staff were very nice and friendly and helpful. Pretty cool mural on one of the inside walls.

I’m seriously impressed. Riddik is a terrific place. It’s as good in pretty much every respect as any hipsterville haunt I’ve seen including in the Sometimes highly fancied inner suburbs. And, this is a place in a fairly non descript suburban mall setting. It’s an oasis, folks. I bet it seriously goes off on a weekend here.We have a cavernous space here with little expense spared in style and fit out. There’s even a huge mural here. Plus, a very cute and clearly highly functional outdoor serving window as well. The whole deal is extremely impressive. That’s just the look and feel of the place. There’s a great looking menu here. I haven’t pondered over my meal choice as much for ages and ended up cross examining the server intensively about four possibilities before making a choice. I chose wisely. The pastrami beni, one of no less than five different eggs beni on offer, is a cracker. It is a delicious dish. It looks great and it is great. I could not fault it, from the really good quality pastrami to the beautiful hollandaise and perfectly made eggs. It was delicious. The detail is managed impressively here. My long black to finish was so good and it was so nicely presented on a board with both still and sparkling water. Wow. Speaking of water, the table water was chilled not room temperature. The three servers we encountered we all lovely too. And everything came out like clockwork. This is a top class place. It could be as good as any brunch place I’ve come across.

Breakfast and lunch menu was available and we had a selection from both. Yummo!I particularly enjoyed my open steak sandwich, came with a special pesto that was very tasty and not over powering. The steak was cooked to perfection, I'd go so far to say it was barbequed it had flavour.Tried the pour over coffee, nice, have to say it's not to my liking, had flavour but was too light in that flavour, that's for me, I'm glad I tried it, you have to try different so you know what you like, prefer or not, do try it if you get a chance...Great place, I definitely have to go back, it's on my routine visits list now.

I dined in with friends for lunch. The coffee was excellent, great presentation and a well-rounded, appealing flavour. The soft shell crab tacos and steak sandwich were cooked very well, price aside.I did find the service unwelcoming however. We ordered enough to spend well over $100 on a quiet day and wait staff seemed very desperate to get rid of us, perhaps trying to look busy or attentive… but I felt more relaxed crossing the busy parking lot outside than sitting down with friends in the cafe.
