Do not go here for steel supply. Charging double to competitors pricing, very rude to talk to and there yard is very messy and run down.

Go elsewhere these guys are useless and have attitude.Arranged for quote and they didn't turn up. Rang them up to find out what happened and they told me that I could go elsewhere if I liked! Persisted and eventually got someone out there to measure up and quote - saying it would be 3 days to construct and deliver. Then rang to confirm delivery and they kept saying 'should' get it you by monday or tuesday of the following week - I had three guys booked in for install on Monday based on their estimate of Friday delivery. So pressed them for Friday completion and we had to go and pick it up ourselves because they couldn't commit on a delivery time on Monday. Then the flange on the piece they made wasn't even welded at right angles to the beam - it's as if they'd given it to the work experience student to complete. Useless.

Great service and advice. Competitive pricing too. I won't bother shopping around next time. Thanks for your help on my job.

If you're into DIY metalworking or you need something for a home project, it's a great place to search for cheap off cuts, various bits and bobs you can't get at bunnings or hardware stores, and they've been very helpful to me when I've needed advice on home projects. I go there frequently for supplies and always leave with more than I intended buying because the place is full of great materials for DIY projects

I needed to buy some steel and had a couple of questions which I politely put to them. The owner, sitting at a desk eating his lunch, couldn't be bothered answering beyond uttering a grunt or two. The receptionist snapped a few words at me but seemed to be overly defensive. Perhaps she had some personal issues. I'll be giving this place a wide berth in the future. Make up your own mind.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE SERVICEAfter waiting for 5 days for a quote we were then told it would take a week to get them to site for a measure.Fast fwd 2 weeks, no calls, no bookings - NOTHING. I asked them if they want the job and the guy actually said..not really. We are pretty busy"Thats their version of customer service. Run you around for weeks and then deliver a big zero. Get ready for disappointment"

Just be aware this company is only interested in dealing with large business. I made the mistake of visiting the factory and was bluntly refused any service due to the fact I did not have a commercial quantity order:(

Danny Ungar has been amazing to deal with. He has gone out of his way to assist my company for any steel designs we needed and willing to go the extra step to ensure we were happy. We will be back when we need more steel as Danny and his staff have always been wonderful to deal with and punctual when delivering.

I ordered a steel beam for a renovation, Danny had it ready on time and when I made a mistake in communication he took it back and fixed it at no charge. Great service guys thanks very much!!

I have been getting my steel from Ungars for over 30 years, from large beams to small angles and plates and I can recommend them 100%.I'm not as busy as I used to be but rang Danny for a small job today and within 2 hours it was ready. Not bad!!Its great that Ungars is still the most convenient place to get steel in the South East.
