Kalganyi Holiday Park

I wanted to have a beautiful time with my family, we rented a cabin for 4 adult and 2 children, 1 baby.This room was disgusting, when we wanted someone to clean our room they call the police on us! They wanted to kick us out with 2 kids and 1 baby.My baby girl become sick, she had asthma and could breath properly on the 1sr night then she had fever.... when I asked to the manager and his horrible and heartless wife for a vacuum and chemicals so I can clean the room myself they told me that they would never borrow a $500 vacuum to a stranger ( even though that I stayed there and i paid $550 for 2 nights!) That place doesn't have any maintenance, this is the cheapest and horrible place in town or maybe in Australia!!!If you don't give a shi.... about a clean room, place, etc or a good customer service go there.Otherwise run away and save your life!

Room was definitely not something I would stay in again, smelt very old and unused , spider webs everywhere and beds are very hard , some lights not working

We stayed here a couple of months ago and I cannot fault the place or the owners. They both went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. Park was neat and tidy and very quiet at night. Very conveniently located to shops etc. will definitely be staying again in the future.

Poor customer service but if you are looking for a cheap place to stay, this would be your best bet. But don’t expect much.No effort is put in to maintain the property as they are just waiting for the shopping centre next door to buy them out.

Very noisy caravan park, very inconsiderate people around. Very old with not much maintenance, Hot water in showers turning off. BBQ not working properly, bins overflowing through out park.

The only thing I could fault is that they claim to have large sites. The sites are actually small, and the possums were noisy at night, but that can happen anywhere. I read all these bad reviews beforehand, but we had no issues. There was always hot water in the showers, and the bins were cleared out. And to he honest, for the price charged for Easter, it was 1/3 of the price of other parks, so what do people really expect. It's not going to be ritz.

Booked an unpowered site for 3 nights as photos on website seemed inviting and pleasant. Arrived to find this was not the case, massively catfished and disappointed. The pool photo is either photoshopped or a very old snapshot of this place in its “glory days”. Clearly no money has been put in to create an idyllic retreat fit for a summer holiday away. The facilities were a joke, and the whole place just felt cold, unsafe, unloved and unwelcoming. When first approaching reception around midday, two members of staff were standing outside the office smoking & drinking with friends whilst staring unpleasantly into our car. They seemed annoyed that we had interrupted them and couldn’t manage to look at us or smile when we were checking in. It felt as though we weren’t wanted there and it wouldn’t have bothered them if we didn’t stay. So that’s what we did! Booked elsewhere in Mount Gambier at a campground that managed to fit us in, despite being full, once we had told them our predicament. We wanted to support a local business but couldn’t help but feel as though they didn’t care to make the experience worthwhile for us. We were much happier at the other place near the Blue Lake which had that “feel - good” factor as soon as we pulled in. Don’t fall for the photos!! Prioritise having positive experiences on your holidays & enjoy them elsewhere :)

The pool was lovely. There's an awesome fully fenced dog off leash area. Also a good playground area for kids. The large powered sites are grassy with shade trees.The Manager was friendly.Out of the 200 van parks I've used during my travels, this one was very good value.Maybe change the office hours on your website or warn people that you close for an extended period during the day?An enjoyable and quiet stay. Nearly at the end of a 4 month stay here. Initially was only supposed to be 6 weeks but flooded with work we stayed longer. We had an ensuite site which yeah needs some maintenance but overall everything worked beautifully. We didn't even bother looking elsewhere for our extended stay as the owners are so down to earth and very accommodating, the park is always kept in tip top shape, and we have made some great memories here. Thanks Ian and Monique, we will miss you guys. Will definitely stay again if we ever pass through town.
