He was really good at overseeing the trades and coordinating the build and did most of the work quickly and well. But ultimety the most important thing that defines a good builder is their ability to deal with the mistakes they make. RECO installed our wooden floor by first installing the skirting boards, then gluing and nailing the solid timber floor directly on concrete without any intermediate gaps and without waterproofing. This is obviously not how floor is supposed to be installed according to Australian Standards. Within a month the floor started lifting and bowing. After 9 months of waiting for a response, RECO refused to do anything to help and instead blamed me for moisture" claiming my house must have flooded. RECO made a few other small mistakes during the build and unfortunatly lacks the self awareness to acknowledge and learn from them. I don't doubt the next floor they install will also be glued and hammered into the concrete as they refuses to see what they did wrong."
