Do not, I repeat, do not even try to get a job with this mob. Even if you try to get a foot in the door to get experience in the mining industry, it's not worth your time. I did however enjoy working for them before the new management came in 2013. But since then, everything like every other mining company, had to cut costs. Poor management, poor safety, poor people skills, poor behaviour and very poor working conditions. They do not follow their own cardinal rules. I got shafted more than once when I applied their cardinal rules. Very disrespectful to their employees all for the sake of cutting costs. I know some mining managers are ready to cut them off around the Bowen Basin area. So please, do yourself a favour and do not listen or even read into their nonsense. BV in Qld should be ashamed of carrying out operations that they know damn well they cannot fulfill. I feel sorry and have pity for the guys and girls that currently work there. And to give you an idea of employee turn over, 2016 had over 50 from one branch and that is not even exaggerating. Including myself this year 2017, in the same branch, there has been over 15 come and go. That too is not an exaggeration.

Good honest workplace. I don't believe the negative comments. I've been associated with this business for over five years. For people who aren't afraid of getting dirty and are willing to actually work, this business is a good place to work.Yes, the work can be repetitive and it can be physically challenging at times, however, that's the nature of the beast. For anyone who wants a career in the mining industry, this place not only provides many good starting positions, it can also provide a long term career for those who are willing to commit themselves to living in the region.Mining is notorious for its boom/bust cycles and the unemployment that comes with this. The laboratory business here at Bureau Veritas Moranbah doesn't suffer from this to the extent that other businesses do. As a result, a position at BV is much more secure than nearly every other job in Queensland coal mining industry.
