Big John's Pizza

Good food just bad service.

The food at this takeaway/restaurant is absolutely fantastic. Their problem is their staff and abyssmal service especially if you eat in. They get as busy as BUT even if not so busy the service of their wait staff is atrocious. It can be “chaos” per another customer…I usually order home delivery but end up having to pick up the order… Last visit to eat in ..my meal was served and by the time I had finished my wifes meal had still never appeared.. After some 30+ minutes nothing (Spaghetti Bol) … just how long does spag bol take versus vegetable lasagne?? Ridiculous. I got charged for a bottle of wine when I had just one glass OMG. Get BETTER STAFF?? Just ordered another home delivery… its 6:30 but they are “very busy” … was going to add an extra item to order but the staff hung up on me… telling me to be patient ?? Im a very patient person? Do you need Gordon Ramsay? Sadly the food is so good the customers dont put reviews??

Pizza is good, service is poor. Took almost as long to get our bottle of wine as it took for a table which arrived sometime after us to get their entree. Served us dessert in the plastic tub they bought it in on a side plastic. Could not be bothered to service it out.It’s a shame as we like stopping for a pizza on our way home from Sydney after a long week.

I was at Big John's this evening. Although the food is good, I found the way one of the manager's/owner was speaking to one of his staff (pizza maker) was inappropriate. The staff member was belittled in front of the customers. I witnessed the manager yelling at him on a few occasions. This is bullying and humiliating for the staff member. It is 2023 and this should not be happening in any workplace. This is NOT acceptabIe! I will not be returning to this restaurant again. Very disappointed.

Really good food but very busy and staff aren't great

The seafood pizza was awful, mozzarella felt like ricotta, dough was soggy. The only pros were shrimps and scallops. Overall, awful experience.

it's one of the best Italian places in Sydney. Not that I have been in many but it's great quality and plates are massive. It's not that expensive as people would think. I don't know what people complaining about, but believe me the pasta and pizza is better than anything that I ever tried in 100km radius. Great atmosphere to take your girlfriend or date to celebrate or just enjoy and it closes late which is rare to find in Sydney.

Absolutely abysmal food, ordered the seafood pizza - shrimp and scallops were OK at best, quite rubbery (over cooked). The oyster was terrible, 2/3 of them were bitter and one if them was fully rotten, it stunk heaps. Didn't even eat just the oyster or the slice, just chucked it out. made me sick the next day.

I can genuinely say that i had one of the tastiest pepperoni pizzas here (only cos its the only one ive tried so far), and the pasta is also just as great. Priced as expected from a local pizza joint, around $20 for the largest size, its not the worst for your buck and also has a pseudo-loyalty program by returning 10 of those white table thingies to get a free large pizza of your choice. The service here is a little questionable though i’d say, with some super friendly staff and the usual bratty and rude ones too. Seating here is pretty tight and seems a bit messy/greasy, not that i’d probably ever dine in TBH. But regardless, the pizza: abso f-in lutely delicious.

I've lived in the shire for 50 years and I hate to say it but the toppings on the pizza are not the same what happened.......
