When previously visited Morris Moor thought must come back to visit Penny for Pound bakery and finally did. Coffees were delicious (flat white and decaf soy latte) and even though I wasn't hungry I couldn't resist the lure of a lemon curd filled donut! Oh my it was delicious, not too heavy, not too light, just right. They had an interesting range of items to takeaway (different croissant varieties, giant baked pretzel, choc chip cookies, carrot cake etc). They also serve meals and will come back to try avo smash while husband interested to try pork cassoulet. Lots of seating and love the retro pink/black/terrazzo decor.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday brunch at this modern cafe patisserie. The food was decent and fresh and service was lovely - after a mixup with our order, we received a generous discount (unprompted) which we immediately spent on the star attraction here - the patisserie section. A panoramic window into the kitchen offers a glimpse where all the magic happens. Wonderful selection of gourmet croissants and baked goodies.

Unreal place. First and foremost, food is a 10. Having a bakery on-site destroys all the conpetition - the fresh bread and pastries are unreal. Go for the grain bread, it toasts amazingly. The eat in food is bloody delicious and the chips were bloody good chips for a bakery. Staff are great; friendly service, good knowledge of everything too. Finally the ambience of the place is awesome, a really relaxing, stress free environment. Couldn't have had a better time. Won't leave out that they make a very solid hot chocolate too.

Lovely breakfast food but I feel some of the pastry can be a bit dry and lack filling in comparison to other cafes I have visited. Also, the restaurant looks amazing, but the staff are particularly slow to serve at the front counter where sometimes you'll find yourself waiting for over ~5 minutes before someone acknowledges you - if it's a busy morning it's very confusing as no one knows who is next to be served etc.

Saw this place driving past, incongruously located in the midst of a light industrial area.It looked so interesting we decided to return here for coffees after our lunch elsewhere. We dropped in to have a coffee and were surprised at the size of it. Penny for Pound is light bright and airy inside with an industrial feel. Full floor to ceiling windows inside let you look into the bakery area where you can see people working making cakes and pastries. Our coffees were delicious and served by cheerful staff. There is a range of very fancy, delicious looking cakes as well as a range filled sandwiches and croissants, both sweet and savoury. We bought some cakes to take home with us they were so delicious.

Fabulous food. Loved watching the bakers practising their art through the glass. Great tea and coffee. We met the boss and his baby son and were able to say how much we enjoyed our morning tea. Pastries were excellent, as were the sausage rolls we took away.

Gets packed at brunch times so highly recommend booking! I booked 2 weeks in advanced and was so glad I did. I booked for a Sun 11am for 2 people. It was buzzing with people eating in and also just on a coffee run.The menu is tiny but it wasn’t a surprise as I know they are more known for their amazing pastries.I ordered an oat cap, and the roasted mushrooms with bacon. My friend ordered the poached pear croffle, and we got a side of fries. As you’d expect of the savoury breaky, but the croffle - wow. I was able to taste some of it, and it was so yummy without being overly decadent!Fries were fries. Very crunchy though and a larger serving than expected! Serving of aioli was also very generous.I ordered a choc-chip salted cookie for takeaway, a triple chocolate croissant, and an almond croissant. I just couldn’t resist!!!! They had so many options though so I think I’ll be back.Overall a really yummy spot in an industrial area (place is very spacious). Staff were also very attentive and helpful!

Wonderful service and interesting pastries and desserts. It's a shame to hear them go into the bin at the end if the day while we were sitting there eating our selection and having our coffee

It’s modern bakery cafe, good for meeting friends. There are 10% sub charge during the Weekend. I order the cheesecake hotcake and chicken burger. Both dishes are in big portions. The staffs are generally friendly.
