Dobell Road Reserve
Little bit of a hidden gem that would be great for young kids parties. Off street parking, playground, BBQ facilities and a netball court all in one space

Park used to be better but they removed all so called dangerous stuff that kids used to have to challenge themselves climbing and replaced it with safe stuff that's lacks imagination and challengeSee saws were removed, swings that adults could sit on gone, since when were parks only for the young?Teenagers used to stop there and talk, you used to see them. Now they don't because the equipment is only for little kids. This is sad, teenagers need places to congregate to learn discussion techniques and socialise otherwise they grow up into adults lacking empathy and the ability to reason, look at the current round of left wing nut jobs for example, these folks I postulate were never exposed to parks and social meeting placesParks are very important social places. Our council's need to stop thinking of them as one dimensional play places for small children and think outside the box and turn them into places where all generations can use them to both gather in their own age groups but also to cross paths and enjoy other age groupsThe tennis courts are well lit up at night but hardly used. They're is a sign up saying the council is doing a study into tennis etc but this is probably a forwarding that the tennis aspect of the park is not being used by the community and therefore will be removedThe park has been beautified over the years but it's not beautification that it needed, the play equipment used to be spread out, so teenagers would gather in their various groups and cross interaction would take place. Now it's all kiddy focused so only a dominant group will occupy the space and now, even they don't bother anymore. The council seriously needs to look at parks holistically, they have become boring and extremely narrowly purpose focused

Great park for locals of the road. Tennis courts randomly locked without reason, or packed out by non locals. Covid seems to have brought out people who thinking camping on a football oval is a good idea (it's not).
