I phoned clinic to schedule an appt for my daughter. I was told by a friendly and welcoming receptionist that took all of my details, that I would be receiving a phone call back shortly to schedule a time. She informed me the call would come from a private number so to be mindful of that. I waited two weeks and had not missed any calls from a private number. No voicemails received. Today I phoned back as I appreciate that psychologist are usually always busy and there is a wait. The woman on reception today who said her name was Shae was so unbelievably dismissive, she cut me off mid sentence and asked how old my daughter was. When I replied with her age she said nobody was taking new clients and that there would be a 7 to 8 month wait list. I said I was happy to he added to that list. She hurriedly took details and said my daughter would be added to the list. My issue here is not the wait times, it was the manner in how she addressed and then dismissed me. When people are seeking out therapy they are usually in a vulnerable place. To be met with such rudeness when reaching out is severely disappointing.
