This is a true family business, with mom at the helm, and husband and kids supporting. The owner is a dynamo, managing the often hectic lunch service with grace. Staffing can appear thin during rush times, but it's a common challenge in this industry.Their Assam laksa and bak kut teh are arguably some of the best in Sydney, packed with robust flavors, reasonably priced, and served in generous portions. The bak kut teh strikes a perfect balance, not overly salty or MSG-laden, but nicely sweetened with dates and goji berries.During our visit, we dined there for both breakfast and lunch. Impressively, the owner was more than willing to serve Assam laksa in the morning.

This place is dangerously good. Killer combination of excellent South East Asian menu with your favorite bakery items (the bee sting is a must). Char kway teow was perfectly smoky and flavorful. Loved the nasi goreng and braised beef noodle soup. Pie was enjoyable too.

We only went to this place to get the carrot cake. I personally have never had carrot cake before but wow it was so good!Poor lady was the only one handling the floor. Will definitely come back to try the food.

It certainly is unique! Fried rice, noodles coupled with Éclairs, cakes and sweet sweet buns.Be aware that you should only come if you are willing to wait at least 25 minutes. Ordering - no QR code menu and orders are all hand written. This reduces the efficiency of the restaurant to remove the dishes from the table and serve the new customers. The dishes on the table next to us were there for at least 30 minutes as it is a 2 person team between the wife and the husband.Outside area at the back.We sat inside the repurposed bathroom, now became a dining area.Nasi Lemak Rendang Chicken - $19.80Ginger, garlic, chili and chicken mixture was well done. Not too spicy.Slow, quality wasn't too bad. It's common to find cockatoos flying around Katoomba

This place deserves 6 stars if I could give it. There are probably 3-4 people working here in total, but they’re running a FULL restaurant so efficiently! Definitely a queue (be prepared to wait) during peak hours, but once you get a table the service was quick. Assam laksa and bak kut teh is what we come for, but their cakes, pies and pastries are a must as well. Clean toilet within, friendly service. Plan your trip and avoid peak times if you can. A hidden gem in Blue Mountains.

Unique indeed! We are not at all familiar with South East Asian food but with the help of previous reviews we choose Nasi Goreng and Char Kway Teow. They were very good with generous portions. We did make room for dessert which do have more familiarity. We had a Bee Sting followed by a Vanilla Slice. As we understood, the person responsible for all this goodness is now in his 60’s and has been practicing since his teens. They do say that practice does make perfect and everything was PERFECT including the friendly and helpful service. While we were there, there was a steady stream of regular customers that came in for their regulars.

A hidden Malaysian gem in Katoomba. The place was packed during the weekend but service was quick. Ordered their tamarind fish-base laksa and chicken rendang nasi lemak. Both dishes were delicious and generous in portions. The serving lady is bright and chatty and super friendly. She just let us pay by card with no surcharges applied even thought at the cashier it clearly states there will be surcharges for cards payments.

This place is least known among the tourists but offers the best Malaysian home made food one can ever find. Their laksa and Nasi lemak are impeccably tasty. Don’t miss this gem while in the mountains.

Unique indeed. Patisserie meets Malaysian cuisine. So expect to smell delicious savoury scents whilst sipping tea or having your mid morning coffee and cake.Service was friendly, coffee and desserts were tasty. Lamington was honestly one of the best I have ever had. And I've had lots.
