Commuter Cycles

Ordered a new bike to be built up for a purchase. Sales staff assured me it’d be ready on Australia Day. I ensured I was available in the afternoon to pick it up. The afternoon came and went. I called commuter to ask where the bike was. The staff told me “oh yeah… we went to the storage facility to get the bike, but it was locked so we couldn’t get the bike at all”. I was a bit confused as to why they didn’t call as soon as they knew the bike was unavailable.When the bike was built up, the test ride was outstanding. Then I noticed a dint on the seat tube of the brand new bike. Sales Staff offered me $200 off, then another staff told me they can’t sell it to me. They then assured me they could have a new one built up within the next 90 mins. I was very upset, but agreed to wait. Staff then told me “sorry, we can have it done by late next week.”I then decided to look into another brand of bike, and made a purchase to be delivered. I also ordered a few smaller parts, including tyres, however, no effort was made to take the sting out of my experience. I have been a long time loyal customer of commuter (my purchase history in store and online should show this), however, this is reason to begin researching a new bike shop to support.

Best cool bike shop ever!! My wife and I ordered our first bike, Neutrino for my wife and Straggler for me. They showed us the joy of riding bikes and made my life more colourful. As I’m not native English speaker, I can’t speak English fluently, but it doesn’t matter for them. They are always super friendly and provide professional services. We were really lucky to find out Commuter Cycles for our first bike. Thank you so much Adam and team! You’re awesome. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to everyone including beginners like us.

The one and only downside of this store is that it isn't closer to where I live. I have to console myself that this is actually a positive for my bank balance and for my relationship with my partner. Because I'd be spending way more time and money here. This store has a cool selection of bikes and it's staffed by a friendly, passionate and knowledgeable bunch of people.One of Melbourne's great bike stores.

Genuine, friendly, helpful service for two beginners picking out new Surly bikes. The staff couldn't have been better, their passion and knowledge remarkable; with tips, anecdotes and just the right reassurance readily offered up. Never made to feel like we were rushed, upsold or pressured into anything we didn't need. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Finn in particular - thank you!

Absolute legends at Commuter. I was recommended to them a while back and have come to add to the highlight reel of glowing reviews. I have utilised their skilled services a few times now, most recently (this weekend) where they kitted out my partner with a new Surly and a custom wheel build for myself. Family rides are now a thing in our household. Can't recommend them enough. Cheers to Huw, Alex, Finn and team! Bloody grouse.

Great service. I ordered a part here, which arrived in Newcastle very quickly. The part happened to be defective and Commuter Cycles were really helpful and sorted it with no fuss. While the part I ordered was defective, the way Commuter Cycles followed it up and made everything happen so very quickly was fantastic. Easy 5 stars

A great shop, i'd go as far as saying the best bike shop in the area. Staff are always kind, helpful and unpretentious and they stock a great range.

Excellent mail order service to NSW, have made a number of purchases in last three months, very happy with the items and the processing time.

Got my service done there this week. Really great condition, helpful and friendly staff, and did an excellent job. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
