I had the most wonderful, relaxing stay at Barkala this past weekend. The staff were wonderful and the accomodation soulful. Lots of hippie-vibes in the best way. This stay is only suitable for the open-hearted!

Lovely staff and clean, comfortable rooms. I would stay again. Very scenic, and be prepared to disconnect a bit because there’s no signal - but that’s a good thing!

Stayed here overnight recently. The farmhouse room is very nice and roomy. The bed is very comfortable, and I love the bathroom fittings! The view from the verandah is so nice. Watching the sun rise or set is just the perfect start or end to the day! The staff are lovely, too! Highly recommended! You can also do a pottery workshop while you're here.

We wanted a last family holiday all together before our elder daughter headed off to Uni. Our younger daughter chose this location as we had previously stayed there in 2015 and had such fond memories. Luckily this visit was at least as good as our first stay.We stayed again in the Poets Cottage which was just perfect for our needs. Far enough away from everyone that we felt totally private, but close enough to walk to everything. I also loved the fact that the wi-fi didn't quite reach the cottage (well that's what I told the girls), so we were forced" to read books

We visited the pottery business and enjoyed a lovely hot drink with scones, jam and cream. Even though the Blue Wren Cafe does not open on a Wednesday, they very quickly offered us food options - perhaps because it was a very wet cold day. Beautiful showroom of pottery - all for sale. The courtyard garden had an artsy Mediterranean feel and on a warm sunny day would be a delightful place to relax and eat.

Super comfortable room and really amazing food. The place is beautiful and the morning when the suns rises it is definitely some of the nicest experiences you can get. The Pottery is beautiful too! Don’t leave without seeing their pet goats!

This place has everything best to offer. Decent rooms for stay with all necessities taken care of. Excellent cafe/ restaurant on-site for pleasing the taste buds. Abundance of serene nature to surround, making this an amazing getaway from the hustles of metro life. Will definitely recommend to friends and will return whenever I get a chance.Tip: if you are going there as a group and want to stay together, ensure you make right selection of available accommodation options since the rooms are not close to each other.

An unconventional kind of place! The farmstay accommodation and camping sites are located on a multi-use site near an excellent pottery studio and cafe. Good local walks. Access may be a little challenging if you're in a 2WD.

Fantastic place, the caretakers are very friendly and nice. There is a restaurant that serves all three meals (during Easter). PS - do check their website for restaurants opening hours.Nice wood fired pizzas.Few things to note when booking, the place didn't have a microwave, as the whole site is solar powered. There are a lot of mosquitoes, so bring mosquito repellent.

Great cozy place to stay or camp, lots of activities, heaps of hiking options. The Schoolhouse is amazing, has all amenities and even BBQ available. Pottery is pricey but I think that's simply a reflection of how much time and effort the artists put into it, really well made and a good range. The pottery classes are well conducted with international staff who taught with patience.
