It looks as though they have majorly improved this facility since I worked here over 10 years ago. They've added many cosy and modern seating areas with gas fire places, there is a hair salon here, the painting has been updates which gives it a much more modern look, the reception is right as you walk through which saves you searching for it and makes total sense. The food definitely sounds and looks as though they have improved it thank goodness!!I came here recently to visit my Nan as she is staying for a short period while my mum is away. She mentioned she enjoys all of the fun activities they have and that the staff are very friendly, she said only one was a bit short with her but since then has come good.I always liked the outdoor gardens here too, surrounded by many beautiful gum trees and other lovely plants, flowers, birds and vegetables.If anyone would like to know, there is a large amount of rooms for 'low care' then another section with 'high care' and there is also another section for the residents that need complete assistance that is extra safe with another security door to get in and out.After working here many years ago and having many many conversations with the residents, it's okay for a short time however they'd of course all prefer to be in their own home or near their families. It's certainly not the same as being home. So think of all of your options, whether they can stay with you or if you've got room to create a small home for them on your property or someone on your family does and remember there is always short stay options which can help and break it up, of course sometimes it's beyond that and they really need full care and assistance with absolutely everything, and if that is the case, please please visit your loved one. The amount of residents I used to see who would hardly or never get a visitor is so so heartbreaking. Loneliness is scary with what it can do to someone. This is why it is great to know the staff here seem like they enjoy their jobs and can really be there to support and chat to the residents too.
