Nick Smallfield Music Tuition

Nick has taught both my son and daughter drums and another son, guitar over the last couple of years and I couldn't recommend him more highly to anyone who may be considering his tuition. Not only is he an incredibly talented musician in his own right, he is a wonderful teacher of children, regardless of their age. He's patient, what he teaches them is comprehensive but most importantly, he makes it fun for them. This is crucial if your hope for your child is to continue to learn any instrument as they develop through school and beyond. And on top of all that, he is a kind, lovely man!

Nick has helped our son to learn Guitar and Drums and he is an excellent teacher with great knowledge. Nick always understands the child's needs and interest and helped them to grow in their own pace. It is sad that he left Sydney and my son miss Nick as a teacher and Brisbane students are very lucky to have him as a teacher. Teacher with multiple talents!!!

Nick Smallfield is a very talented music teacher. My sons (6 & 9yrs) took both private and ensemble guitar lessons with Nick. They both really enjoyed his classes and were sad that he was moving interstate. Nick has a natural instinct with children and their music abilities, making lessons flexible and adapting his teaching style to the child’s pace of learning. I saw this first hand in the way that he would switch easily from more technical lessons with my eldest son, to fun more playful lessons with the youngest. Nick really helped my kids become confident with their guitar practice. I recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent music teacher.

Our son had drum lessons with Nick for over two years. We could not recommend him highly enough. Our son has special needs, and Nick was very kind and patient with him. The choice of songs Nick selected were great, and very appropriate for a teenager and made the lessons fun and interesting.

Great teacher!!! My son started with Nick in his HSC year, when he needed something outside of school to help him through the year. Nick was kind, gentle and really cool to hang out with. Greg couldn't wait to get to music lessons. During the year they had a showcase and Greg did a solo and also jammed with Nick, his old brother and another music teacher. It was extraordinary how much he had learnt in 2 terms of music. It seemed like he had been doing it for years. We miss Nick and if he ever comes back to Sydney, Greg want to be his first pupil.

Nick is a fantastic, reliable and fun drum tutor. He is very talented and professional. My two children had drum lessons with him and learnt a lot of new skills while having a great time! Thanks for all your hard work Nick!

Nick is a very talented musician and a lovely guy. I had drum lessons with him for 5 years and was in the percussion ensemble he ran at my school for 2 years. During this time I learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed myself. I would definitely recommend getting lessons with him.

Nick is a talented musician and a fabulous drum tutor. He taught our 10 year old daughter drumming for 12 months in Sydney from May 2016 to June 2017. My daughter had a ball and was always enthusiastic about her lessons. Nick is a very professional, polite and enthusiastic teacher. He is flexible and is empathetic towards his student’s needs. Our daughter was encouraged to explore and perform the type’s music she enjoyed most. She made a list of her favourite songs and together they mastered hits from the 1960s and 70s. Getting to play on an electronic drum kit and using the latest technology was a confidence booster for my daughter. We were sad to see him leave Sydney. I would highly recommend Nick as a drum teacher. He is especially good at relating to kids and teaching music in a fun way. Patient, kind, thoughtful, creative and great with kids. Nick is an amazing tutor! Our son had both private and school tuition with Nick and he loved every minute of it. Nick is a patient man who is able to connect with kids and bring out the best in them. Sydney's loss is Ipswich's gain.

Nick is a talented musician, he taught my daught both drum and guitar. We were so sad to learn that he was no to longer to teach in Sydney. He was so supportive and made her really enjoy to learn and practice.
