in winter there are few options for eating out on Lord Howe Island. The day we arrived (a Sunday) only the Anchorage and the Bowling Club were open. We chose the Anchorage and were very surprised at the quality of food which was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. We returned on Thursday evening for the Pizza and Pasta night as they had offered me a Gluten Free option. I also bought bread there which was freshly baked each day. Yes it is expensive but so is everything on the island.The owner has his own plane which he uses to fly food from the mainland - so the menu is amazing considering the location of the restaurant!

Best place on the island to enjoy breakfast with a great view of Mt Gower and the lagoonThe bread baked in-house was delicious and the muffins were sooo delicious everyday ❤️

Average food, unfriendly customer service. We visited there once for lunch and once for only coffee. On the second time someone from the staff said hello to us, on the first time we just got very rude customer service and felt very unwelcome even though the restaurant was half empty. They did not even ask if we enjoyed the food.. gladly, because then we didn't have to have this awkward moment to admit we didn't enjoy it. They should do better!!

I have to give 5 stars! The service was beyond expectations. Food was amazing and the chef was so nice that they can make my daughter simple pasta and brocolli that she ask for, we family of 11 and been coming here for breaky, lunch and dinner and staying at blue lagoon, was the best and one day we will be back again. X

Good quality and fresh food, variety, service, view and prices considering everything is shipped in.They told us the menu changes everyday which is true but it was only one item each day.Breakfasts/lunches were about $25-$30ish and dinners were from $40-$55ish when we were there in 2021.The dinner portions were big enough to fill me with a side.Also the only place on the island your can rely on being open for food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.Would totally recommend eating here and your can see why is the most popular place on the island.

Coffee review only; had coffee here a number of times and it was a lucky dip of what would come out. Not hot enough, not strong enough, too strong. Yes I’m from Melbourne! But you can’t beat location, l’ovation, location.

First class restaurant with seating overlooking the Lagoon. Can't fault the meals we had. Duck & Rib eye. Menu was dated for the evening we went. Therefore it must change on a regular basis. Worth a visit. Lovely decor, position, staff & importantly food. Also is a bakery with a limited range of fresh fruit for sale. Also does lunch. It's a must.
