Highly Strung Picture Framing & Art Supplies

I found this store when I was up on holidays. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable and they had a good range of supplies. I also saw that they did custom canvases and framing and have a big range to choose from. Someone collected a very large canvas that looked very professional. Shame they are not closer to home.

After reading some of the previous reviews I was worried to order from Highly Strung. But I found out that they have a good reputation amongst well-known artists, so I had to give them a try. And I must say I have no regrets whatsoever. Replies to all my queries / emails were pretty much straight away. I ordered a few large size custom linen canvases and the quality is so much better than the best (more expensive ones) I have bought till today. I can’t wait to start painting. The way I was greeted and treated was well beyond my expectations and the knowledge I gathered when I was there was well worth it. Both Sue and Glenn are fantastic to deal with, highly knowledgeable and I would certainly recommend them. They are also very reasonably priced and the collection of art material in their shop is quite nice. I don’t think I’ll mind driving all the way from Moggill again.

I have tried to use these guys twice now, once personally and secondly as a consultant and each time the service has been as good as the last. They are unhelpful, defensive and display some of the worst examples of customer service I have ever experienced. Don't waste your time, there are plenty of great framers locally that will value you as a customer and more importantly your business..... Never again!_______________________________________________N.B The reply you have taken 9 months to write below may have you confusing me with someone else, as I did nothing of the sort but I guess 9 months to think about it may do that to a person.At least your reply compounded my customer service comments. First rule of business, keep it professional and whilst the customer may not always be right, replies like this never help. Just heed the advice and grow from it. Its called customer SERVICE for a reason.

You lost a $200 sale of watercolour brushes today because of the attitude and treatment towards me of the surly woman behind the counter. I am a repeat customer to this store but not any more and will never step foot into your store again.Before entering your store today there was a No Mask No Entry sign on your door.I asked if I was going to be refused entry or service which was a no once I advised that I had an exemption…..all good, however, QR code checkin became problematic as there was no sheet available to sign in as I did not have my phone. Mrs attitude then requested my details which I gave being Name and phone number which is all that is required at any store. Apparently not in this instance and was insisting on email and address information which I advised was an unnecessary request.Just so you know I actually don’t have to Use the QR system anywhere as it is illegal under Federal Law under the Privacy Act 2015 and you might want to educate yourself before being so belligerent about the information requested.For such a small business you would benefit greatly from being recommended by customers and would think a more welcoming attitude would have been the better option to take.Your loss at the end of the day as I acquired my supplies elsewhere as I will do so in the future.

I do a lot art and art shopping and this is one place I won't be visiting again. The lady looked like if she said hello to me she might just have a heart attack. It was the most strained hello and no customer service after that. Said thank you on the way out because there was no way I was buying anything from someone who was rude and even with the thank you there was nothing. Extremely rude and I would rather spend my money in a store where people actually want my money.

The belligerent defensiveness and utter contempt for a paying customer shown by you is something I am still flabbergasted about.After paying in advance for a custom canvas, and enquiring days later on expected delivery date, I'm informed that it's a 3.5 week wait time, but I'll get it sometime next week maybe. Information that would have been greatly appreciated at time of ordering, as I need this information to be passed on to my client.Apparently it's my fault for not asking, and when I expressed my upset about this in an email using the phrase I'm quite frankly outraged"

Without question the worst customer service experience of 2017. They framed two pictures with the wrong mats, blamed me and their supplier for their own mistake and refused to take any responsibility.They finally accepted a return because one print wasn't attached to the hinge properly. Months later they were returned to me fixed". They put the correct mat in this time but the workmanship was even worse

Has a good range of art supplies. Sue was very helpful with recommending products for a beginner in acrylics, also pointing out some tips not to do or use. Will be back in the future for more supplies

The woman that works at this place has absolutely no customer service skills. She doesn’t acknowledge customers let alone offer any help. Terrible. Won’t be going back

Glen is extremely skilled and knowledgable about canvas stretching, very generous with his time and his quality of work is superbly high. I can't recommend him strongly enough. And Sue was a pleasure to deal with, efficient and very responsive to emailed (international) questions. This is a top operation that could hold its own anywhere.
