Absolute scam operators. They will rip you off and take as much money from you as they canDO NOT USE THEM, JUST BOOK DIRECTLY WITH THE HOTEL, ETC. Save yourself the time and money of dealing with them, because they are only there to take their commission and any other money they can take.Their customer service" is beyond incompetent

0 stars for Booking.com. Terrible service and a complete rip off! Booked a car rental overseas and they took hundreds at the time of booking. When I had to cancel the booking they only gave a partial refund and the rental company got ZERO from the booking. Booking.com took the lot for nothing. Book directly and forget these merchants!

SCAM COMPANY!I had reserved a hotel and had to cancel due to covid. The customer service team was terrible to work with and only passed me onto the hotel who was actually unable to process the refund as it was made through booking.com website. I have been robbed of hundreds of dollars and have no way to receive or request a refund. DO NOT MAKE ANY BOOKING THROUGH THEM. This is the worst experience I have had and will be sure to let as many news reporters as possible know about it.

I booked car rental through Booking.com which seems to be operated by Rentalcars.com in the UK. Despite having received a confirmation email and having a printed rental voucher they simply cancelled the car hire saying that it was no longer available. It seems they think they have the right to cancel a valid contract simply because they can no longer supply the item at the price they offered. I have complained to the ACCC regarding this in my opinion illegal actions. I would be very wary of using this service again.

I asked them to deal with a complaint. They did not deliver! Check out some of the poor quality accommodation they approve on their site

I booked 2 rooms for business through this website for the Mantra on Queen for Saturday 13th May. My money was gladly taken for my stay but after many requests to both this site and the Mantra for a tax invoice I still have not recieved one. Both parties blame each other and say they are not responsible to provide me with a tax invoice. They gladly took my payment and I'm sure if they did not get my money I would not have been able to stay at the Hotel. Thanks for no customer service. I suggest if you are traveling for business never use this site if you want to claim your expense.

A frustrating loop, trying to call customer service or email, but you can't do that without the confirmation email with the booking reference number... which we never received. I sent a snail mail letter to the only address I found online for them, and it was returned to sender. It should be illegal for companies to make it this hard to contact them or complain in Australia. It seems I now have their address for service, so they can look forward to legal proceedings from me now.

Booked, said total of all fees and charges and yet charged 1.9% extra despite only method of paying is credit card. Highly illegal according to the ACCC. How much is a credit card surcharge?According to the RBA, surcharges for credit cards can range from 1% to 1.5% and above, although the exact surcharge amount will depend on the merchant and the type of card. Businesses can set their own surcharges, but they must be based on the cost of accepting a particular payment type, and they cannot be more than the cost. The RBA states that the average cost of different card payment types, including credit, debit and Eftpos, is as follows:Eftpos: less than 0.5%Visa and Mastercard debit: between 0.5% and 1%Visa and Mastercard credit: between 1% and 1.5%The ACCC notes, however, that the amount it costs a business to process a payment will depend on factors such as the size of the business, the technology used to process payments, and the payment method. Small businesses may have higher processing costs than larger ones, and the cost to smaller businesses may therefore be higher than the indicative figures listed above.Whatever the surcharge amount, a business must be able to prove the costs they used to calculate it.What is a reasonable credit card surcharge?Australian businesses are allowed to charge payment surcharges, but they are banned from charging excessive surcharges (although there are exceptions to the rule we explain below). In these cases it means businesses can only charge what it actually costs them to process the payment. This requirement applies to all businesses, regardless of their size. The ban covers:Mastercard and Visa credit, debit and prepaid cards;eftpos debit and prepaid cardsAmerican Express companion cards.
