I signed up as a Dough Getters loyalty member not long ago and the staff at Charlestown were more than happy to redeem my free birthday scone coupon!The customer service felt warm and friendly and my mud chocolate scone was delicious

Bought a Sweet Chilli Twist today and it was nothing but a twisted bit of bread with seeds on top. Only a few years ago these had cheese and sweet chilli coating on top. Now bland and boring. Sorry Bakers Delight but lots has changed and not in a good way."

Watched the sales assistant handle my bread with her bare hands - no gloves or those little bits of paper. She then couldn't even be bothered to pay enough attention to the POS while putting my sale through to notice that it hadn't been sent to the eftpos machine. She clearly didn't want to be there and I didn't want bread that had been handled with bare hands by someone who dislikes her job so much she can't even make sure her sale can go through - who knows when the last time she washed her hands was. Certainly wasn't before serving me. Won't be returning until better hygiene practices are in place.

Today purchased an Apple /Walnut log then asked for suggestions for something with custard. Advised 'Berry/Custard' so purchased one. 5 adults shared 2/3 but no sign or taste of custard. Back down to the shop and advised staff who said can't do anything". Not young staff's fault but didn't get what I asked for AND at a premium price."

I was there sometime last week in the arvo and a young lady called Amelia (I think) helped me with recommendations of a cheesy vegemite roll and a lamington scone. The young lady was amazing with her customer service skills and hospitality skills and should be recognized for it! Will be coming back. Thank you!

Was treated terribly today by an elder woman in the shop, I was waiting my loaf cutting and danish heating up at the counter (another young girl served us), my two years old wanted a Xmas pudding tester from tester container, I picked two tiny pieces testers for him, the older woman staff shut the tester container and said “I think he had enough” rudely. I still couldn’t believe what just happened, I meant how could you treat customers (a two years old) that rudely with a sour face??!! So unprofessional and so rude. You possibly don’t care about some customers because apparently you are doing a successful business, but I sincerely feel sorry for your family, co workers, and customers who are served by you rudely.
