Budget Truck Rental Richmond

I called ahead saying I will be on the dot or 2 mins over. Was told that would be fine. Arrived at the address and everything was locked with the staff walking out. I explained I called ahead and was told to drop off keys in the after hours chute and that I would be liable for the vehicle overnight.Staff wouldn't open the door or listen to me, walking away from me as I was talking. This is after I called ahead. If they told me the place closes and everyone walks out at 6pm on the dot, I would have just stayed home where it was more secure.

A fantastic experience from the guys - when a van not available was upgraded to a small truck. Excellent service, able to drop off into key safe, great flexibility with my booking. Exceeded expectations which I guess is what it’s all about!

Often use budget truck rental at Richmond when ever I’m moving or helping people move. Alway great service. Would definitely recommend and have done so!

Excellent, quick and friendly service. We had booked a van at Thrifty, but once we arrived they mentioned that they did not accept our Dutch drivers licence without a translation. We have booked twice at Thrifty and also at many other car rental companies (e.g., Juicy, Avis, Europcar) and this was never mentioned nor a problem. We were blindsided with this policy, and we felt very upset about this experience as we needed that van for that day due to moving out. We went quickly to Budget and they had a van available immediately: AUS$100 for one day (return next morning) including insurance and only a $100 bond. Within 10 minutes we had a substitute van at Budget for pretty much the same amount that we had booked days in advance at Thrifty. Also bringing back the van went so smooth: it only took us 5 minutes (just bring back the key, get receipt and done!). Amazing service, very friendly, quick and efficient and the price is very good. Great!

Booked a moving van for Saturday 10; was called Friday night after hours to say the van was not going to be ready at 10 but 12 Noon - really annoying, but OK - turn up at 12 and no knowledge of when the truck will be back. Got in my car, drove around the corner to THRIFTY and got a better van (lift; not ramp) - drove back to Budget to advise them - they couldn’t care less. Service attitude was pathetic - will NEVER go to Budget again. Congratulations Budget Richmond!

The guys in the office on pickup and return dates were terrific, helpful and friendly. My moving van was super clean and practically new and did all it was supposed to do easily. The only downside was when I made a phone inquiry, a female (first name stating in L), was a little abruptly and short on the phone. Politeness goes a long way.

Good service in the sense that the guy behind the counter ran out to move a car and give me a parking spot on the road. However it was all downhill from there. I booked a van for the day and got a much larger van than I wanted - also I got a very old (like 15+ years, it had an old school stereo and nothing digital) van that was dinged up; the inside smelled of old socks and the engine whined loudly for the entire time. I also had to wait while they cleaned it, because I believe they had lost the keys for the van I was supposed to get. The larger van wouldn't fit up my driveway so my helper had to carry a 40 kg fragile door much further than originally anticipated.

Last year I was moving, I went there with my friends to hire small truck. I find staff was not friendly. I did not go back. So, sorry giving you only star for your poor customer service. Thanks
