Hidden Valley Cabins
Hidden Valley Cabins offer comfortable accommodation at a very affordable price. I spent 10 days here and highly recommend HVC as an incredibly tranquil spot for a getaway, either on your own, with your partner, or with your family. Owned and operated by Christine and Phil, a delightful and helpful couple, the cabins are set in natural bush where it’s easy to spot kangaroos, echidnas and myriad birdlife. And if you’re hankering for the beach, Lorne is a mere 20 minutes away or if you’re a hiker, Hidden Valley Cabins are surrounded by trails into the Otway National Park. Loved my stay here, thanks Phil and Christine!

We have a wonderful time every time we visit. The cabins are beautifully maintained and very comfortable and the owners are super friendly and helpful. Pennyroyal is such a stunning location, very quiet and peaceful but close enough to all the action in Lorne. Ask about all the amazing bush walks close by.

The accommodation was not what we expected. It's very basic accommodation. The cabin is not suitable for elderly travellers. The couch and chairs are very uncomfortable. The bed also is a back breaker. Bed is a little small and pillows are like pancakes. There is no Wi-Fi or mobile coverage. The TV is so small it's hard to see and the reception was shocking. The fittings are outdated. Would suit younger people. It's in a great location with fantastic gardens. It's quiet and clean. We actually booked elsewhere for our second day in Lorne.

Our weekend retreat at Hidden Valley Cabins was one of the best. Perfect peaceful location with well maintained cabin with a great service from Phil who was providing a lot of information even before you go there.I cannot understand the recent negative review posted below and believe they must be referring to somewhere else, not this place.Phil mentioned us regarding the newly built adventure park c,lose by 9Live Wire Park) and we spent the next day there - kids loved it.Then the next day we were pleasantly surprised by the bush walk just start from behind our cabin which lead you to a small water stream. There was small wild golf course which was a great addition to other garden attractions. The parrots visited us in both mornings and we only expected 2,3 but we were pleasantly greeted by like 20-30 of them. Great experience for kids.We hope we would go there again to have a break from this busy Metropolitan/city lifestyle.

This place was the best get away from a busy city life! The cabins were well presented and extremely well maintained. The little golf course and bush walk on the property offer amazing peaceful retreats. Sitting out on the balcony with the king parrots and beautiful forest views capped off every evening. I would recommend this place to anyone, the owners were so approachable and made the stay even more enjoyable. Can't wait to book in my next trip!

I stayed at Hidden Valley Cabins for 3 nights and I would recommend. The cabins are simple but clean and they are set in beautiful settings. The hosts were very accommodating, friendly and helpful and it is only a 15-20 minute drive away from Lorne.

We have been coming to this place for over 10years. The cabins are always clean and aired before we arrived. In winter the electric blankets are on and the cabin is heated. In the summer the cabin is cool and aired. We are with our 5 year old grandson, second time for him. He loves a holiday here. Parrots on the balcony, beach 20 minutes away. Today we are going to pick strawberries. Phil and Christine are the best. They even take the time to remember us and take an interest in our lives. They are like family friends to us. Another biggy is the price. Phil and Christine are not greedy, unlike accommodation in Lorne, great savings, leaving more to spend on our holidays.

I have been staying with Phil & Christine for the last 4 months whilst on contract in Colac and cannot boast about friendlier, kinder people.Commuting back and forth from Melbourne week to week, there is nothing more welcoming that getting to the cabin at 10pm on a Sunday and having the lights and heating on ready for me to resettle back in for the work-week.Having the comfort and familiar surroundings to be allocated to the same cabin week to week is a godsend when having a ‘home away from home’. The facilities on site are clean, comfortable and fresh – I cannot praise Phil and Christine for the amount of work and love that they put into their cabins whether it be the facilities on site to cleaning the cabins themselves daily. The facilities go without saying but the conversations are what really keeps me coming back – in a remote and relaxing area the option to have someone to talk to from time to time is lovely. Thank you to Phil and Christine for being such hospitable hosts.

Lovely friendly owner, showed us around the site when we arrived and our cabin which was a nice size and clean with tea and coffee provided for drinks and a well equipped kitchenette. They even provided a little milk until you could get to a store (nearest is the general store in Dean's marsh about 5-10 minutes away which also does hot meals and opens for breakfast at 8am) and bird seed to feed the many local birds. We had king parrots who would happily eat from our hands, galahs and sulphur crested cockatoos on the balcony and saw plenty of other birds around including a gorgeous superb fairy wren and a couple of crimson rosellas. There are also a big mob of kangaroos that come onto site and on the on site Bush walk but mostly are in the fields adjacent.

This is the second time we stayed in hidden valley. Beautiful place very peaceful and quiet with an amazing view.enjoyed feeding the birds and Only 20 minutes drive to Lorne. But I feel like they have reduced their supply this time! Maybe just make sure to bring whatever you need.No basic food supply’s at all such as salt or paper. No tissue or paper towels,It was no hand towel at all and when we asked they said they don’t provide it! ( on their listing it says towels provided)No bin in the toilet. We have been told by the host that he will provide us wood for bbq each time but only once he did and then we had to find wood in the bush every time ourselves which was a bit fun anyway. We were a bit disappointed this time but overall we enjoyed our stay and the hosts were super friendly.
