Busby’s Cafe ~ why bring a picnic lunch to Wisemans Ferry picnic grounds when you can dine in at Busby’s Cafe for breakfast, lunch & dinner. A great outlook down into the valley. Sit in air conditioned comfort inside or out on the deck. Stopped here recently one Saturday on a local drive and the Cappuccino was simply outstanding ~ much better than my local cafes like Gloria Jeans, Michelle’s, etc.. Parking is off street. Staff are very friendly. Seating is ideal for those long family lunch chats.And another recent drive visit to Wisemans with a family member and this time lunch on a Saturday ~ Great burger and fries [see pics] , cool drink and yes ~ once again, one of those outstanding cappuccino's to finish off. This time the deck was the place to sit with the choice being [anywhere] until 4 other guests arrived for a lunch meal on the deck. Great menu selection, prompt and friendly service.

Someone recently liking my review has reminded me to come back and re-assess. Since I posted the below, I have been back twice, and I have to say, service has returned to the friendly and efficient service I was used to. It's really good to see businesses that take feedback and improve.I do however, feel that I can't remove the below review, as someone liked the original criticism, not my now corrected version. So apologies if this doesn't seem fair to one party or the other. Original review below line.-------------------------For 3 years, I rated this place 5 stars. Good food, excellent service, great view of the valley. Unfortunately there has been a change of staff and the experience can be very up and down depending on which wait staff you get. Several times we've had our orders mixed up, got items we didn't order, or parts of our order missing. More regretably, its the same waitress that messes up every time, and she's also the one who is fairly abrupt bordering on rude (still positive experiences with the other wait staff) I try not to rate a business based on one experience, however, it's been too consistent of late for me to leave my 5 star review up. Things that haven't changed since my last review: The food is still very good, the views and atmosphere is still lovely, the coffee still ranges from average to terrible, depending who is making it, and prices are fair to slightly high.

Great views, food was amazing especially the veal ☺️

Waiting time was way too long, they're severely understaffed. Food is not bad, portions are generous. Kids meals at $12.50 are almost as big as the adult meals $20+. Beef burger was probably the highlight, and cream of broccoli too.. Won't be back if I had the choice.

Lovely location however the experience was sadly tarnished before we even sat down.My friends and I visited the restaurant on a Sunday (25/08/19) for a lunch. There were 11 of us in total. We were seated outside at a table comprising of 3 single tables pushed together. There was a spare single table next to us, so we politely asked the waiter (light brown, wispy haired man) if we could push one more table together (so 4 total.) To our surprise, he curtly replied, “SURE. If you want to pay an extra FEE.”We were shocked by his attitude, because he wasn’t joking. We didn’t think our request was unreasonable: there were 11 of us, squeezed onto 3 tables, which normally seats 8. I have attached a photo of the table that another reviewer left, which shows 10 chairs at 4 tables, in the same spot we were at.The waiter couldn’t even be bothered with the courtesy of explaining his reasoning either. The restaurant was quiet and there were plenty of unoccupied (and unreserved) tables around. These tables, including the requested one, remained empty until we left. We were not blocking access to certain parts of the restaurant, nor did we try to move the table ourselves. It would not have impacted other guests.We stayed for the meal regardless, because it would have been a hassle to change restaurants. To make matters worse, 2 of our meals were no-shows, so they had to be chased up (by then, everybody else on the table had finished their meals.) My friends and I are very patient and usually understand that human errors happen, but due to the earlier exchange with said waiter, it really left a sour note for our group.Now reading other peoples reviews, it seems like service certainly isn’t their forte.None of us have ever heard of a restaurant that charges a fee for an extra single table, and sadly wouldn’t recommend Busby’s based on our experience.

It is ok, although we came in after a long day of riding and they wouldn't serve us a proper lunch. Would appreciate proper food for the whole day. View was nice.

Why just today I arrived at 2.30 pm (Monday) for a well earned meal with my lovely wife Caroline. Caroline had just come out of hospital following her distressing chemotherapeutic sessions. We had just taken a leisurely drive in our luxury Lancer to remember the last moments.Upon arrival we were greeted by the elderly grey-haired gentleman of the service staff who advised that the establishment was no longer serving food as there was over an hour’s wait. Immediately thereafter, the snappy dark-haired lady barked that we weren’t welcome at the dining venue and slammed the premise door shut on us. This was most unmannerly and all happened so fast. We were left shattered; Caroline was in tears at the vile treatment experienced.Instead we had a delightful meal at the local bowls club down the road and were treated with outstanding service that made Caroline feel some level of happiness given the horrific circumstances afforded by life in recent times.Good old fashioned customer service seems to be wanting at Busby’s. I shan’t be returning with my lovely wife again. We prefer respectful hospitality making for a pleasant experience when dinning out.

Nice location and spacious restaurant. Tasty foods but a bit pricey. I had their duck breast dish. I was expecting to get slice duck breast but I got the leg instead and skin wasn't cryspy. Other than that it was yummy.

Tasty. Nice food presentation. Quick and efficient.Pricey though.

Went back to Wiseman's Ferry to spend a weekend, and Busby Restaurant was definitely a reason for that. Me and my wife had breakfast sitting out on the deck, and as we expected - the food was great. I ordered the Poached eggs and wife ordered pancakes. Jamie Busby attended to us while we were there, and he gave us no reason to complain. He is a man of few words but he more than makes it up with the quality of food :)Definitely recommend this place for the food and the mountain views from the deck, though the service could be a little slow at times when there are bigger groups in attendance.
