Went with a party of 18 including someKids. After reading variable reviews/experiences, we didn’t have super high expectations but wanted a good meal to celebrate a birthday. The service was amazing, the welcoming accomodation of our kids and space (private party room off to the side) for noise without bothering others was so appreciated. The beers and wines are all worth going here for (albeit some on the fancy end of the budget). The food was really interesting and delicious. We did manage to land there Good Friday- a day when some fresh lobster had found it’s way to the menu, so sometimes you just get lucky!! We will be back and would highly recommend.

We had such a lovely evening. The Courtesy bus to Merton to pick up 10 of us was such a hoot! The salmon was divine and staff are there to please. A great blend is city cuisine meets country fare. Thanks to you all, we’ll be back.

Mother’s Day lunch was abysmal. Very poor quality food and very little. Set menus were not shared and did not include any main meal; included 7 extremely poor small cold portions of food… one complimentary drink, and “bottomless tea and coffee” but did not have any of the tea that we asked for.Not one to normally leave reviews, but I would not go here!!No time consistency in between meals.$75 a head for food that barely passed as an entre.

I understand the expensive prices at country pubs these days but the food was pretty average and a really long (1hour) wait when it wasn't busy.The burger was very basic with undercooked chips - $28. My wife had mushroom risotto which was also $28 but was small.The service wasn't great and with the wait and price was a disappointment - there are way better country pubs out there.

We had the most wonderful Good Friday/birthday lunch at the Yarck Hotel today. It was a treat to have a private dining room for our group of 17 and the food and service was wonderful. The local beer and wine list is great. The special Good Friday seafood menu was delicious and we all felt so welcome (especially our kids). Thank you!

The wait/bar staff are absolutely beautiful people. The food has the potential to be delicious however is far too salty. The risotto was practically inedible as was the soup of the day. Really disappointing meal.

We stopped in for dinner on the way home from Buller and it was such a welcome surprise! We couldn’t have been welcomed more warmly, the hospitality was next level. The kids meals were so generous and delicious. Our meals were amazing - we had the soup of the day and the lamb shanks, great wine list and the setting is so cosy! Highly recommend!

We enjoyed a great steak meal with very ample fries and vegetables served by Kellie and team. Friendly staff, wonderful wine and excellent pink stubbie holders!! We’ll be back!

Fantastic little pub!! We enjoyed exceptional service by knowledgeable, lovely staff and the food was delicious (I had the lamb shank and hubs had the fish n chips). Hubs says we had a great feed for a great price." We will definitely be back."

Our dinner was sublime! Scotch fillet was cooked perfectly and calamari was flavourful! Staff gave great service and we didn't have to wait long for our meals. Would've liked vegies or salad as part of the steak meal for the price. Nice reno!
