The Long Apron Restaurant
On June 1st we had an intimate post wedding celebration which exceeded our expectations. The service was very good, staff were attentive, the food was of high standard and overall we felt the service was very consistent. The Sonos system was playing our playlist exclusive to our area and mics were ready for speeches. After the meals and speeches as our function concluded the staff advised they had lit the fire pit and had an esky with the most popular drinks of the night along with blankets for guests. All our guests commented on how nice the evening had been. We would recommend the French banquet experience for a group and the private location of the library deck. Thank you Spicers Clovelly for creating a wonderful memory for my husband and I and our families.

While staying a couple of nights at Spicers Clovelly Estate we dined at the Long Apron on a couple of occasions.We want to thank Cindy for making our dining experience very special for us and catering to our needs, fussy buggers :)Over the two nights, we sampled quite a few dishes on the menu and found the food to be of the highest standard, matched by the service of Cindy.Highly recommend dining here if in the area.

Quite simply, perfection.From the moment we stepped foot on the property we knew this was going to something special. We only live 10 minutes from Spicers Clovelly but we couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary. Rachael greeted with us with sincerity and two glasses of bubbles in the garden. She suggested we make our way to the deck overlooking baroon pocket dam to watch the sunset. Alex showed us to chairs by the fire pit (blankets for our knees on the back of the seats) and poured us each a generous glass of wine. He very kindly chauffeured us back to our room where we had a chance to relax and freshen up before dinner. Hannah greeted us at the restaurant door and while we waited for our table she made (and we enjoyed) a couple of perfectly hand crafted cocktails in the sofa. At 7pm Alana told us our table was ready. She look after us for the rest of the night. She was professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. She made us feel very comfortable and seemed to know what we wanted before we realised it. Then the food. Oh. My. God. The food. Five star all the way. Well balanced, thoughtful and uncomplicated flavour combinations.We’ve dined a few Hatted and Michelin Star restaurants over the years and very often the hype outshines the food. I’ve lost count of the amount of disappointing dinners we’ve had where the chefs have used too many ingredients in a dish and the food looks beautiful but ends up being over complicated and nothing shines through. Expensive and gravely disappointing. It all just ends up tasting flat and grey.This is certainly NOT the case at Spicers Clovelly. From beginning to end. Exquisite. The flavours, and the plating, fresh, bright, and clean. Kudos to the kitchen. One knockout was the sweet potato dessert. I’m still thinking about it. Alana was right. It was incredible.Our room was perfection. Clean as a whistle, comfortable, and plush. Turndown service with handmade chocolate pralines? Yes please!We WILL be back, and we will tell friends, family, and strangers on the street how impeccable Spicer Clovelly is.Well done. Courtney, Alex, Alana, Hannah, and Rachael you are a credit to your organisation. You all deserve immediate pay raises. This is luxurious and everything you could hope for in a fine dining experience. The attention to detail in the food, service and atmosphere is remarkable. The chef Geoff went above and beyond tailoring an exceptional vegetarian 5 course tasting menu. He is an absolute genius. We have been here many times before and have never been disappointed. We have already booked our next visit.

Delightful dinner service. We had the tasting menu and it was delicious. Well balanced and just the right amount of food. The maple old-fashioned was also amazing. Service was attentive.

Came to surprise my partner for birthday dinner. All of the food we had was exquisite. Beautiful flavour combinations. Waiting staff were friendly too :) Thankyou very much for a wonderful experience.

Food delicious and creative, service was average, lady serving us didn’t seem to love her job and was quite stand offish, music was not aligned to an expensive restaurant. Could not fault the food though

Outstanding in every way: food, service, location and atmosphere. My wife and I went for lunch. The weather was gorgeous and sat at the indoor/outdoor terrace which provided the best of both. We had the fixed price 3 course menu $95.00pp. I can honestly say it was one of the most outstanding fine dining experiences I have had. Each dish just hit the ball out of the park. We have had many fine dining experiences before and most are very good, some a little too much theatre for my taste but still good food. Today was high quality classy honest food. We paid an extra $10.00pp for the steak, and added 2 side dishes. Along with 3 glasses of quality wine and a coffee $300 and we left very, very satisfied and a smile on our faces. It felt special. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

Overall was a great dining experience!Staff were really quite attentive (though did drop the ball with a gluten free dietary requirement when delivering dessert - quickly rectified and they were apologetic).Cocktail in the garden before dinner was really nice, and a great setting for a pre-dinner drink.My wife and I had the 5 Course Tasting Menu, with matching wines for one. Two of the five dishes were absolutely stellar and well worth the money (fish & beef - possibly one of the best beef dishes I have ever had), one was good (opera gateau), and two I did not enjoy at all (vichyssoise & scallop). Scallop itself was presented raw in thin strips, and lacked flavour, and the tomato portion of the dish was underwhelming. The vichyssoise had an oil with dried / burnt chunks of herbs that completely overthrew the entire dish and left a bad taste that even the matching wine couldn't help (I must add that the matching wines were really good, and paired well with each dish).Would we go back? Absolutely!Would we do the tasting menu again? No - for $140.00pp and only two or three good dishes, that unfortunately still left us not quite full by the end, we would probably do the 3 Course A La Carte instead. In addition to being cheaper ($95.00pp), the portions were larger and we could pick things that we would better enjoy.

Great tasting food. Outdoors a little too dark at night. Was a long time between entree and main / 3rd and 4th degustation dishes.
