Great clean rooms. Fantastic views if you get ocean facing. Awesome bed (queen size though, no King). Decent pillows. Good functional bathroom.Really great if you want a spacious apartment outside the city

The Front desk and Cleaning start were brilliant, the accommodation was excellent and the location was fantastic.Left the Melbourne Oaks apartments for dead.

Great location, clean spacious apartment. Got a complimentary upgrade on arrival. While some of fitting in the rooms were dated, the overall experience was wonderful. Highly recommended.

We had a below average stay. On arrival our rooms were not made. Rubbish on the floor, beds not made. We could see blood on the pillows and dirty dishes also in the sink. They then provided us with another room in which the sheets were dirty. The next day they cleaned our original room to which we found our shower not working and dirty towels hanging. Also if you are expecting beds made this does not occur. The only daily cleaning is the changing of your bins. The price you pay to stay here is not worth it. Staying at a backpackers would have been cleaner then this place.

For the cost of over $400 a night (and yes, I acknowledge the excellent location), I expected something a bit better than a mid-level motel standard. Pros: the room was very clean and quiet, there was an indoor pool for colder days (the water in the pool was very cold though and the spa was freezing, a broken heater according to the sign). The location couldn't be faulted, a five minute stroll to the beach and park and marina, a ten minute stroll to the shopping strip. The receptionists were always friendly. There was a working washing machine and dryer in the room (VERY handy) plus full kitchen. Cons: the room was very old (room 907) with a cracked sink, cracked bath, and stained carpets. Definitely needs a refurb but at least it was clean. Another con: the housekeeping was extremely odd: the first day they changed a couple of towels (not all the towels, didn't seem to be any logic to the ones they took and the ones they left). They changed the bin but left the old rubbish next to it. No evidence of floor cleaning or bed making. Then we didn't see again until three days later when they did exactly the same thing. Just seemed odd and slapdash. I would probably not stay again because there are a lot of motels around the place which would give you better value for money. I thought I was splashing out on something a bit higher-end but that was not the overall experience.

Great location close to many good food options, walking distance from the beach, tidy and spacious rooms, great for families, very cost effective. Laundry, kitchen, dinning and lounge facilities. Some street noise at night, if you are facing the beach.

We had a very average experience at the Oak Hotel Glenelg. It was expensive for what you got, a parking spot was $22 extra a night and it wasn't welcoming at reception. The room was getting a bit tired, mould on the grout in the bathroom, missing knob to try and get the shower going, no sponge or detergent to try and clean your dishes, flat out finding a PowerPoint to put a charger in, carpet was great near the walls and a faun colour in the tragic areas. We asked if we could have a later checkout, they never got back to us. We needed a second night's accommodation, l called reception on my phone because the hotel phone didn't work, it took them 40min to find me on their system even though I'd given them my room number and full name. They kept transferring me to new people, then l would have to start again. The question was so simple. , I'm in room 405 is it available again for tonight" !!!!!Ended up packing all our stuff and moving in 100m down the road to the Stamford Glenelg. The experience couldn't have been more different. Prompt friendly service and a far superior classy hotel and the same priceI know which one I'll be booking straight up next time ."

Had a one bedroom apartment. Great value, very clean and right next to the action. Lovely city views.Very nice and comfy bed. Could have done with a bit more dish cleaning equipment as I self-catered and just one small measly bottle of shampoo and no dental stuff so basically bring all toiletries from home. Local residents seem a little annoyed as sharing carpark with visitors.
