Paralana Hot Springs

Amazing, a bit creepy place to visit. Not suitable for camping due to deadly radon gas lingering at the ground level.Spring water is hot/warm and radioactive. Weird large blobs of algae grow in it. Grounds are littered with wallaby bones who died inhaling radon gas ( so remember - no camping or laying on the ground).Road from Akaroola is not maintained. At times road is littered with sharp rocks, you can only drive slowly and carefully over them. No steep descends/ascends though.We really enjoyed our visit, it's such a unique and surreal place, radioactive hot springs in the heart of SA wilderness.Come if you dare!
