Coles Maroochydore

Mostly very elderly customers waiting for over an hour today for a taxi at Maroochydore plaza. Coles staff member became aware of this and provided us with bottles of water. Coles had no obligations to provide us with water but they had concerns due to the long waits, fantastic work. Thanks to the Coles employee, we thank you so much.

Normally all the staff is kind and helpful but this morning I had very bad experience(sorry already for the long comment but I have to explain this) so I bought custard cream profiteroles to snack out of the shop and at my first bite I understand that the cream inside was totally frozen .(normally I always buy it and is not like that at all) So I went back for change or have a refund but was a lady very angry who tried to explain that COLES profiteroles had just defrosted and therefore they were just like that,to avoid this I let them sit for 10 minutes but they was literally inedible. I went back second time to another lady very kind that understood and finally I could have a refund ,the thinks is at the cash out was same lady and she still trying to explain me that I don’t deserve a refund in impolite way and she don’t even try the profiteroles .

My 1 year old spilled some water in an isle. Instead of just leaving it, I parked my trolley over the top so no one would slip and went to ask for some paper towel so I could clean up the mess. Paper towel was practically thrown at me by a staff member before she frowned and walked off as if I had done something wrong. If I had left the water there and someone had slipped, they would have had so much trouble to deal with so you would think the staff member would be gracious about it. Then get to the cash registers on this wednesday morning (pension day for many retirees) and they only had one register open. There was a line of 8 elderly people with full trolleys and myself with an overtired crying toddler all waiting for a single cash register. The self serve attendant was asking everyone to use self serve and told me “oh you can use self serve right?” And when I said “no, where am I supposed to put my crying child while I scan and bag all of my groceries?” She scoffed and walked away before giving me dirty looks from across the space every time my child cried. If there were more staff on the registers, I would have been able to get out of there sooner and would not have had an upset child in line for so long. Another staff member said something and the attendant loudly proclaimed “none of them want to use self serve” in a very negative and judgmental tone while gesturing towards the line of elderly people. Every time I go to this coles there are next to no staff on the register and long lines of elderly people waiting to checkout. They have swapped four registers for more self serve and should know that Wednesday is pension day as these huge lines are a regular occurrence, so would think they would put more staff on but do not. staff shortages are one thing but unkind staff are another.

Just watched when the mark down products were being done 2 other coles staff members waiting and getting them immediately and then one young staffer heading strait back to the deli.They should not be swooping in when customers should get first preference.Also I have not seen the price tags so low

Not enough checkouts open in busy lunchtime. However, when a new checkout did open, the checkout operator responded exceptionally well to a shopper going through the checkout who was quite ill, including organising a staff member to assist her to a cab. Very well done!!

Easy to get around, stocked really well and they have very helpful staff.
