Con Brio School of Music

I don’t know about the lessons - from the reviews, they seem amazing - but my experience with the piano rental room was awful.When walking in my first impression was the the room was left messy, with things all over the table and items all over the place. However, I thought it would be fine since I came only to use the piano.When I started playing and adjusting the seat, I realised that the keys and seat handle were both really really oil. The piano itself was also really oily, and I could see grease marks all over the black, polished wood.The sound of the piano was also not that great, as it sounded really hollow, cheap, and out of tune. It was a grand piano, but even my upright piano at home sounded 10 times better. However, I didn’t mind that as much, since I wasn’t playing in front of anyone.This is the worst part. As I continued to play, I kept getting distracted because of all the background noise. I think about 3 lessons (2 piano and 1 violin) were taking place and that’s fine; I understand it’s a music school. However, the walls were paper thin, and I could hear the talking, playing, and squeaking of the chair as if all the lessons were taking place in the same room that I was in. I physically could not concentrate and was starting to get really annoyed.The only plus of this room was that it was quite spacious and provided me with pencils. I’m sure it was a teaching room, as there was a chair next to the piano stool, and as a 14 year old girl, I’m so confused as to how students can concentrate in this room. I’m studious, and can usually concentrate, even in noisy areas, however, this noise level was just unacceptable.My parents pay a fee at school for piano and clarinet lessons, and although we are paying the teachers mainly for the knowledge, even the music studios there are significantly higher quality. With all the five star reviews I witnessed online, I’m extremely disappointed and angered by the state in which the rooms are left in, and I pity the students who have to learn in this environment.

Con brio is a good school. Teachers are professional. Both music and theory lessons are great. My son loves the lessons at Con Brio.

Amazing place, extremely friendly staff and teacher. Also really good piano to learn and practices on.Very clean and quite classroom, cannot imaging a better place to learn.Have both session for group, individual, kids and adults!Highly recommend!Edit: Also forgot to mention, they have the best app for online classes as well! Highly recommend Con Brio. I’m impressed not only by the professional environment here but also by the amazing teaching methods that could encourage kids to explore and enjoy music from learning an instrument and music theory. Darren is a passionate teacher who has great personality to engage students and effective ways to inspire students in piano playing. My son loves going to Con Brio every week for his lessons.

Definitely deserving of “No.1 music school in Australia”! Since learning at con brio both my violin and piano results have improved dramatically! Could not recommend this school enough!

Award winning music school with best teachers. Adult beginner class is designed accordingly to each student’s interests, lots of fun to learn! Great facilities for in person class and apps for online sessions.Never too late to learn an instrument, and Con Brio staff’ve always made me feel welcomed. Highly recommended!

Darren is a one of a kind piano teacher. He is truly passionate about helping his students excel and at the same time makes learning music fun! His lively personality easily engages the kids. My daughter loves coming here to learn. Thanks to the wonderful team at Con Brio.
