Lake Colac Holiday Park

Awesome Caravan Park lovely onsite manager was very helpful.We stayed 2 nights would have stayed more if we were able. Will definitely stay here again.

Excellent camp, very peaceful and quiet along foreshore camping area.

Stayed here last week for 5days and Jason and his Wife were more than accommodating, definitely recommended going there while they’re managing the place and will be following them in the future. Thanks again

A very racist encounter. We've called this place and booked in advance and everything was smooth. The woman on the phone said it is ok to BBQ at the park however when we arrived everything changed instantly. Not only was she dismissive and unfriendly, But when we mentioned that we had a BBQ she was very rude and made shocking racist remarks.The woman justified the sudden No BBQ allowed" by saying " I've seen people like you and how they BBQ" then proceeded to mention that she will call the police in a very condescending and judgmental manner. She then proceeded to charge us more money and said that she'll have to split the group into two very different locations. Mind you we are a small group. She obviously does not welcome people of different ethnic backgrounds or minorities. Please steer clear from this place if you are from a different background or a minority. Apparently "we" BBQ differently than the rest of the world.I was disappointed and so were the rest of group however we have found an incredible place not too far away from this racist spot. It is a public Caravan camping site called "Meredith park camping grounds" with a beautiful scenery to a lake. The free stay at the Meredith camping site was free of prejudice

Drive though entrance office is a box as there are intems running rhe park until the shire picks rhe tender for caretakers there is a mobil no if unattended and staff are very quick to come.Drive though into park and there are 4 wheel drive pot holes but not deepto be fixedThe caravan park is old and needs ipdate but cleanYou get a key to your ensuite which is beside every caravan site which is a great way to feel secure.The ensuite are old but very clean and so nice to be able to feel safe in locking yourself in for a shower or toilet visit I think k every caravan park should have ensuiteThe park is clean and lovelyThe staff are very friendlyThere is a black metal fence at the back of the caravan park but has a gate to go though to walk the path that follows the lake. The caravan Park backs onto Lake ColacIn the carpark near the park there is a coffee van nice to get a drink and sit on the seats looking over the LakeI recommend this park highlyHere's hoping that when the council gets caretakers to look after the park it will be updated .Highly recommended A++++++++

The highlight of the encounter with the female manager was extreme racism. So we were 3 people with disabilities and 2 carers. We called in advanced and explicitly inquired about whether we are able to barbecue there or not and she said yes you are allowed to barbecue there. We also paid $55 for a camping ground for 4tents we drove 3 hours from Melbourne and the moment she saw us her attitude changed completely to unfriendliness and condescending. Her first response was you have to pay for an extra space and we paid $75 without arguing. Her second comment was I know what people like you do when they barbecue". I don't know if she meant the disability or the brown skin. Her third comment was "if you barbecue there I'll call the police and they will kick you out". All of that conversation happened within 5 minutes of our arrival and at the reception. She was so confident that we wouldn't find any camping ground around the area because it was a long weekend. Imagine our mood switch from extremely cheerful to shock and depression. Thankfully Google came to the rescue

I visited this caravan park recently and they are lovely. Used their shower facilities and I'd recommend this caravan park to others. Will be back soon

Lovely gardens and staff here and very clean amenities. Our pup had a wonderful time to with plenty of space for a good run. A little noisy from the trucks at night but other than that we highly recommend

Good location overlooking lake however condition of my on-suite not reflected in the money charged for it. Had a towel rail which came off and a shower covered in mould. Place was less than half full on a Saturday night during school holidays so perhaps travellers had opted for less expensive no frills alternative at Central.
