The Kyah Hotel was well presented and the room had been refurbished and very comfortable. The only issue with the room was the bathroom is a little small. The restaurant Blaq was very good and the staff very friendly and happy to be there. The combination of this hotel and restaurant made our short stay relaxing and enjoyable. I would stay there again.

My partner and I stayed here for one night. The receptionist Holly was so helpful and friendly she was able to get us a booking for the on-site restaurant because we didn’t realise we had to make a booking. I loved the aesthetic of the place, the available spa and sauna and the cute garden at the back!!Few things I want to note is the loud exhaust fan in the bathroom, the dark lighting (I get it’s the aesthetic but sometimes it’s a tad dark in the hallway, I also think it would be helpful to put the range of room numbers on the wall example rooms 210-220 we struggled finding our room lucky another guest was able to show us where our room was!P.s for future guests make sure you book for the spa, sauna and restaurant ahead of time.

Stayed here with a group of friends while on a Blue Mountains weekend trip. It is a quirky little hotel with an in house restaurant. We stayed in a two bedroom unit, very nice and spacious, clean and well presented. They had air-conditioning, which we had trouble with on the first day but the staff were quick to come and trouble shoot. The beds were nice and comfortable, and they have also provided plush throws which helped with keeping warm. The bathroom and toilet are a bit outdated and small, but there was not any issue with plumbing and water pressure of the shower was good. One thing that's a bit annoying were the digital key cards where you use your phone to tap into the door, we found it was difficult to use, had to try several times before the door opens. This hotel is close to a few trails for walking trips with great views of the mountains and valleys, and also a short drive to the main area of the Blue Mountains (Katoomba). Will stay again if opportunity presents, overall a pleasant experience.

We had high expectations as this property boasts a very glamorous, minimalistic vibe on the website. I had booked for our wedding anniversary and so was after a romantic getaway but unfortunately was left a little letdown especially given the price of the room. They have done a good job doing up the old motel with fresh paint and cute finishings, however it still maintains it’s motel vibes with the cobwebbed rusty windows and outdated bathroom. The toilet didn’t flush properly, the taps turned the wrong way and the fan did not work at all. Perhaps most annoying was the bed. It was the softest bed we’ve ever been on (and not in a good way). We were both slumped into deep grooves, unable to even touch each other. The pillows were huge, we both slept without pillows in the end as they were so uncomfortable. The hot tub was not working, which was very disappointing as we were excited to soak after a long day hiking. We were also disappointed with the BLAQ restaurant. We ordered a steak which was clearly cooked on low heat as it tasted boiled and had a boiled smell to it, this was also very expensive. This place has potential, the staff are lovely and they’ve done a good job improving the property but it is very expensive for a glorified motel. Credit goes to the website designer because they have done a very good job.

Our go to hotel in the Blue Mountains. Stayed there twice already. They added a small sauna and jacuzzi. Interior is unbeaten, short drive to Katoomba, and all the other beautiful attractions e.g. lookouts/hikes…Make sure to eat at the restaurant!!

Had a fantastic time at Kyah! The rooms were absolutely beautiful and the beds were incredibly soft. My partner and I loved the big soft grey blanket too. It was such a nice and cozy room, perfect for heading into this cold winter. The bathrooms were also quite nice and I loved the black and sleek taps, it adds a point of difference but also sophistication at the same time. The staff were also really friendly and inviting. We had a blast wondering around the property looking at all the amenities as well the garden and chicken coupe! We also ate at the restaurant, Blaq, for dinner and breakfast. When I tell you the food was good, it was GOOD! The food was incredible as it was nothing I have ever had before. You can really tell that the food is all freshly grown greens and locally sourced ingredients. Such a magnificent experience. The atmosphere and the staff have done fantastic job to make it an experience to remember.Overall, I would have to say that my favourite part is the atmosphere that the team have created. I love the music that is playing all throughout the entire property. It is like a little world that you can just escape into.Could not recommend Kyah and Blaq enough!

The rooms are clean but under-furnished. They are a poor attempt at minimalist interior design. Hotels and motels usually offer a standard set of furniture that offers comfort. I wouldn't stay here again. It's uncomfortable and thoughtless. How do two adults sit on one chair?I notice other reviews noting the one chair policy".This suggests to me that management have a commitment to the current design of the room or they do not care about customer experience. It doesn't make sense. There is sufficient room to provide another chair

It was an okay stay at the Kyah hotel. I will point out some aspects though:Bed: just way too soft and uncomfortable, you'll make a crater in the bed and it'll be impossible to move out of.Pillow: way too high. If you're sleeping on your back your head will lean so far forward due to the height of the pillow, blocking your airways. My boyfriend and I almost considered sleeping with no pillow.I'm convinced no one on the executive team has tried this combination of soft bed + high pillow it is just SO uncomfortable.Lighting: there's no overhead lighting so the room can be pretty dim.Kettle: kettle is provided in the room but no mugs, tea or coffee.Noise: you will hear everything including ALL giggles, 5:30am alarms, people talking through the walls, people walking outside etcBreakfast: no where in the room inclusions on the website mentions there's a free grazing table breakfast, I only found out after reading the reviews on google. Some good thing are that the black out curtains are seriously good, at 10am it still looked like dead of the night. TV comes with all the major streaming services, just byo account. Decorations are nice but that's about it.Because of the uncomfortable bed I probably won't be back.

The social media and web developing team for Kyah deserve 5 stars for their marketing.Despite the price, this is not a luxury hotel. At the moment it’s a high end motel at best. The bathrooms are incredibly outdated and mouldy, with no ventilation fan and shocking shower. Nowhere to hang towels. The ‘King’ bed that I paid for was two single mattresses squished together. The linen was simply a top sheet draped on a mattress, the doona folder into another top sheet. For a King Suite I would have expected somewhere to hang my clothes and perhaps a light that I could read by at night.Don’t let the pictures fool you, this hotel is in the middle of a residential area, I had a view straight into someone else’s house, it’s not the bush escape I had read it was. Having said that, it was a quick drive to dinner. The walls and ceiling are paper thin, and you can hear everything your neighbours do and say.The staff were friendly and helpful though.I felt deceived by the marketing and social media, had I known what I was in for I wouldn’t have been so disappointed. But with a $300 price tag, I expected a lot more.
