RSPCA South Australia- Lonsdale Shelter

I loved my first day volunteering at the RSPCA. There are lots of dogs that are looking for their forever home. Please give these dogs a second chance rather than buying a puppy from a pet store, etc. There will be a dog here for what everyone is looking for.

Love visiting the shelter. Plenty of parking. Busy areas but quiet areas too. I like their shop where you can purchase items for beloved furred or feathered friend. Staff and volunteers are really special and devoted to their calling. Knowledgeable and give sensible advice around behaviours and care. Everything is neat and clean. Animals look so well cared for. I look forward to their new premises when ready as it will be a bit easier for those of us in Adelaide's west to access.

We adopted a cat at the Lonsdale RSPCA recently. The staff were incredible at listening to our needs and environment and pointed us in the right direction when it came to personality and tolerance. We left with the most perfect cat for us. He is patient, kind and cuddly. My children are so in love with this beautiful 3 year old cat. Thank you so much for helping us find our forever furry friend. He is so loved.

It's been 3 weeks since we adopted Lenny and we are so happy.The adoption process was so easy. We were lucky enough to have a two week trial with Lenny to make sure our autistic child would be okay with him in the house. Thankfully, everything went well and he is a beautiful addition to our family.I didn't expect to find a Greyhound at RSCPA but my dreams came true!My only wish is that for future trial adoptions if you could make an online form for people to sign to finalize the adoption via email. We live a hour and a half away so it's a bit of a drive to come back for 5 minutes to sign paperwork but that would be my only thing I wish you could change for future customers. Other than that everything is great as always :)

We adopted the delightful Jerry today! So impressed with the facility and the very lovely and knowledgeable staff. Jerry has settled in like the champ he is! He is absolutely beautiful and we love him so already! Thankyou so much.Jerry has comfortably made himself at home! He’s had a few experiences. His first weekend the fire brigade rescued him as he climbed 30 feet up the elm tree then realised he couldn’t get down! The following week he almost came to grief after getting entangled in the apple tree! We had to cut his harness off! He then found his way out of my enormous yard and was next door making trouble! We blocked the hole and since then he’s a calmer boy! He’s a total character and we/everyone adores him. He still talks a lot, yells at me for treats! He’s a total love and we are so glad we have him. It took a few weeks but we are all on the same page now! Thankyou again for everything you do. You guys are the best xxxx

The whole experience was wonderful. Found the perfect dog and the staff were amazing .
