Verde Store Hobart

Lovely little store, always has beautiful products, friendly staff and an easily accessible location! A must visit in the Hobart area!

Cozy store with lots of interesting plants and homewares. Love the selection. I think the review by Lisa is a little unfair as there were no fur products - think she might be cooked.

Lovely store. I've called past a few times and mentioned a plant I had been given and struggling with. The sales assistant made a note to ask for advice for me, and remembered my face the next time I popped in (and shared the info she had found out).

What a treasure trove of homewares, plants, flowers, chocolates & gifts lovely place to buy something special I love this shop with a bit of everything and the staff are lovely Karen is just delightful great place to explore on the weekends

I have always adored this shop - Karen stocks the most wonderful plants, trinkets and curios however I was incredibly upset last week to note items of real rabbit fur in stock. I thought we had all moved beyond using real fur given its deplorable origins. While rabbits are a pest this fur is derived from large inhuman farms usually Chinese, reknown for cruelty and those poor rabbits being skinned alive. It’s morally corrupt to support and profit from this industry by promoting and stocking fur.In a world where you can be anything Verde why not choose to be kind??In response to your reply to my review regarding fur:I managed to track down information concerning the fur you have chosen to sell. The rabbit fur originates in China. There are no laws in China at all that prohibit the mistreatment of animals. You state the welfare of the poor rabbits is checked on by regular visits and that you have Certification of the conditions (almost a contradiction of terms when referring to The welfare of animals in China)Show me this certification to put myMind at rest?Your shop is beautiful - you do not need to make profit from the abject suffering of a poor rabbit. Do you really need to stock rabbit fur in your lovely shop?When you can choose to be anything - why not choose to be kind?
